July 27, 20178 yr Went to the restaurant out at the big dam Doi Saket. They have built a 'Suspension' bridge over the inlet far side. Not complete I will suggest but must be big aid for locals. Two views of water which is down following 2 years of drought. john
July 27, 20178 yr Is that the same one as AND http://www.chiangmaicitylife.com/news/mae-tang-water-transfer-tunnel-asks-to-revoke-national-park-status-in-building-area/ ??
July 27, 20178 yr Quote Two views of water which is down following 2 years of drought. Not sure why you think that's down, I was out there maybe 12 months ago and it was a lot lower than that, water is definitely rising again.
July 27, 20178 yr Author Well water is pretty low, I can remember 2011 when the track below was underwater and the toilets where flooded as where the lower tables in the restaurant. john
July 27, 20178 yr I visited a few weeks ago and also thought the water level was lower even though there has been plenty of rain since May. I could cycle in areas by the waters edge which would have been impossible in 2016 when the drought was in full effect. Has water been released to allow the tunnel work to be done? I have noticed other reservoirs have filled up since May and even Huay Tung Tao but I don't notice it at Maekuang.
July 28, 20178 yr It will be full in 2021 or soon after , http://www.chiangmaicitylife.com/news/mae-tang-water-transfer-tunnel-asks-to-revoke-national-park-status-in-building-area/
