I don't believe that governments are always right but I also don't believe the Army, which is answerable to the government, have ANY right to take over. Separation of powers.

Well tough TIT. Luckily for Thailand, what you believe is worth less than nothing, and those who care for their country stopped a plan to plunge the nation into crippling debt to sustain an unworkable policy designed to keep a pack of thieves in office. Those involved in the waste of public funds aren't facing the electorate, they are facing the courts, which is where they belong.

Nothing has changed. There is still a pack of thieves at the helm, but when they steal it's not theft, just "Thainess".  Anyone who thinks it's questionable why the current so-called PM is so incredibly rich and has made threatening comments about anyone that should dare to question the matter just doesn't understand Thailand.

I will look at their current actions, and applaud the infrastructure improvements and the prosecution of corruption. Before you claim "incredibly rich" you might want to look at the wealth accumulation of the Shinawatras during Thaksin's lifetime, and his blatant abuse of the Thai people to achieve it.

Yes, they are both incredibly rich and both incredibly corrupt.  The difference between you and I is that I don't defend one thief and condemn another.

If you think THAT was the real reason for the take over then you are either naive or censored. Either way you are not a democrat and Goebbels would have been proud of you.

Who is facing the courts for theft?

"President Agri Trading, a controversial rice exporting company, was today ordered by the Samut Prakan district court to pay the Foreign Trade Department 200 million baht in compensation after it was found guilty of embezzlement.

The company’s top executive, Mr Apichart Chantharasakulporn or Sia Pieng, was also sentenced to six years jailterm after he was found guilty of the same empezzlement for misappropriating over 16,000 tonnes of 5 percent white rice worth 175 million baht which were part of the 20,000 tonnes of rice supposed to be shipped to Iran." http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/president-agri-ordered-pay-state-200-million-baht-compensation/

Since the original inception of the rice scam, this man closely associated to Thaksin, via his companies Siam Indica and President Agri, has been paid huge fees to sell the governments rice while the country lost billions. IMHO it is the payoff side of the rice scam, besides the electoral bribe benefits.

Yes, move on quickly. there is plenty of evidence that these 2 companies made huge sums acting as her and her brother's agents in selling rice. do you assume Apichart, a close associate of Thaksin, was given this role because he is a nice chap? And if her family is benefiting, directly or indirectly, that is corruption.

Nearly all of her electoral promises were electoral bribes - there is no other way to describe them. How many achieved any notable results, even at the great expense of some?

Why do you always tiresomely highlight the corruption of the previous government when everyone as already well aware  that this was the case?  Yes, Thaksin was horribly corrupt... and?  When are you and the fellow junta huggers finally going to answer the question I continue to ask: how did Prayuth and his coterie become so fantastically wealthy off military salaries?  Why do all of you refuse to address that very simple and valid question?  How can someone so obviously corrupt beyond belief be lauded for prosecuting someone else for the same thing?  Not the Yingluck trial has anything to do with corruption, or rice.

Not a single junta-hugger in sight at that question. Typical,

Well you see, that is the topic. Which is what you would rather NOT talk about, while demanding a return to democracy and its horrible corruption..

Simple question, and I repeat it yet again: how did Prayuth become a billionaire off a soldier's salary? Answer the question.

And yes, I demand a return to democracy and the "horrible corruption" of such a situation because it is not even a pimple on the arse of the corruption of the junta/military lap-dogs and the elites who deployed them to protect their wealth and status.  People who are on a par with Hun Sen of Cambodia.  No different, they have just exploited their "aristocratic" status to give themselves a veneer of respectability, but that no one falls for... except maybe... ahem!

The fraud took place during the period of June 8-July 16, 2007

Funny how you fail to mention that this guy was sent to jail for a crime committed in 2007 - therefore having nothing at all to do with Yingluck's rice scheme.
