PHUKET: -- The Phuket branch of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) yesterday ordered that new construction plans for the eyesore construction site on Krathing Cape be drawn up and clarified within 30 days.

Deputy Director of the Phuket branch of ISOC Capt Boworn Phromgaewngam led Rawai Mayor Aroon Solos and officials to inspect the construction site on a popular coastal road in Nai Harn, on Phuket’s southwest coast yesterday morning (Aug 3), after it was ordered that construction stop on Monday (July 31).

Phuket Public Work officials used an Electronic Total Station, an instrument used for surveying construction sites, to collect data and perform coordinate-based calculations at what they described as the first and second ‘zones’ of the site.

And, as usual, the 28 years of brown envelopes that were passed to the various land officials from 1988 to 2016 in order to approve this illegal structure will never be the subject of an investigation.  The Phuket Land Office continues to be the most corrupt provincial government office in Thailand.  Deeds and approvals obtained from that office are basically worthless as they can always be legally challenged at a later date with all the risk put on the buyer with no criminal liability ever being suggested against the corrupt government officials.  Caveat Emptor!

Phuket Land official Mr Amnuay Pinsuwan, however, confirmed, “This land plot number 113311 (one rai) is legal and was approved in 2016 by a requested document proposed in 1988.”

drawn up?

better torn down

In a normal country plans are submitted to the authorities prior to any building commencing Hmmm

In the mean time there were at least 6 construction workers there doing their thing today.

One word you neglected in your copy and paste that make a significant difference.

" new " construction plans for the eyesore construction site on Krathing Cape be drawn up and clarified within 30 days.

The whole saga is ridiculous at best, but not unusual.

Should be made an example of, i.e. rip it down, resubmit original plans, start from scratch, that would have to hurt the pocket and be a deterrent for future D heads.
