Myanmar man found dead in apparent suicide in Songkhla

By The Nation

SONGKHLA:  -- A Myanmar worker was found dead in Songkhla province on Monday morning with a broken rope around his neck, police said.

The other part of the rope was found tied to a tree above the worker, inside a forested area about 500 metres away from Kanchanawanit Road in tambon Korhong of Songkhla’s Hat Yai district, said Captain Boonya Thongsalubluan, deputy inspector of Korhong Police Station.

The man was identified as Phade Kong, 24.

A mobile phone was found on him.

Boonya said it was believed that the man died two days earlier, with the rope breaking because he could not bear his weight.

Boonya said the dead man’s Myanmar friends told police he drank with friends late Saturday night and then disappeared.
