A local pedestrian had a grisly find today when she discovered a deceased baby in a garbage bin near a Phuket-based University.

The Kusoldharm Rescue Team and police were called to the location at a soi in front of Dusitburi Village.

Police report the baby was approximately seven months old, female, with pale skin, and black hair. She was found in a black bag bound with two towels. Also in the bag was a T-shirt and articles of garbage.

Police spoke to the pedestrian who found the body. She is reported as saying she was searching the trash for plastic bottles at the time. She says she saw the big black bag, opened it and there was a body inside.

Police suspect the infant might have been from an unplanned pregnancy or from a mother who had problems keeping the baby.

The body was taken to Vachira Hospital for further examination.

Incredible! You hear it time after time. This time 7 month old! Think about having a small lillte cute life for seven month, and then just throw it away like a piece of insignificant garbage.
Wher eis the feelings? Where is the moral? Where is human instinct? Even where is animal instinct from the motherly part? Where is the responsibilty?
Does people who do an awful act like this even the right to be standing close to the human race. They could not even find a place in the animal kingdom.

It does not matter if somebody have problems, are too poor or just don´t want the responsibility. This is an act of pure evil disregarding what ever reasons a person might make up to sway the opinion.

An utterly low act, that there is not invented a strong enough punishment for. Never had been and never will exist.

There needs to be an option for a parent to drop an  unwanted child at a hospital  without any fear of reprisal or prosecution, no matter the reason.

We do not know  yet  how this baby died, but I'm quite sure in some way - society  failed.

Looks like parenthood failed. Intelligence failed and human moral hide under the threshold.

It doesn't say if the child was 7 month old from conception or from birth.

Either way it's very sad.

true, its horriffic, but from your entitled perspective on suspects that you have no concept of how desperate people can become.

what if the child perished form a genuine illness and the mother/father/either/or was unable to afford treatment. or a migrant worker of no status and no recourse to medical aid.

i am not making light of the death of a child, nor do i think it my exalted position to pass judgment without any real perspective  or information regarding what actually happened.

agreed, this goes deeper than the actions of the parent or parents of this child, and most here are far too privileged to even conceive of some of the potential reasons for this childs death.

basic human needs like child welfare should be the tax payers problem.

i personally can think of no better place for my taxes to go.

Well OK then, you'e going to have dead babies in trash  cans unless there is  way to help them.

Dead babies  or compassion.? Choice is clear to me. I'll pay 1000 baht a year for a social fund - rather pay that than for obscenely priced  war toys.

You still just don´t put a baby in a bag of trash and throw it. Even a 1 cell organism understands that.

well, at the very least you seem to, lets just leave it at that.

sadly many dont have the luxury of dealing with absolutes.

My thought was that having a child was an absolute situation.
