On the top of the twin tub washing machine by the water inlet is a lever to direct the water either into the washing tub or into the spinner tub.

After washing something I drain the wash tub and then transfer the washing to the spin tub give it a spin then back in the wash tub for a rinse then back in the spin tub for final spin before hanging out to dry. (Yea! it's involved)

The wife just puts the washed clothes in the spin tub and while spinning briefly turns the water selector to the spin tub saying that's all you need to do to rinse the clothes. I can see how the centrifugal force would force the water through the cloths taking the soap with it, but is this an efficient way to rinse clothes with a twin tub?

Twin tub users your experiences are welcome.

Drain soapy water put fresh in add fabric conditioner and wash clothes again eleminates all washing liquid in clothes and softens them. Then throw in spinner.

I only use water in spinner if i wash my garden clothes dont wash them in fabric softner

Mummy used to have a Hoover twin-tub.

  • Washing from the wash side into the spinner, spinner outlet, soapy water back into the wash tub.
  • Then loads of rinse water into the spinner, spin to drain.
  • Adjust the spinner contents and rinse water again.
  • Wiggle the stuff and spin until dry.

Are your clothes clean? Does anyone in your family have dobby itch from adverse reaction to residual laundry detergent.

According to this both of your are correct. https://s.productreview.com.au/products/manuals/303119_56972bb60867b.pdf

You do "common rinse" your wife does "spray rinsing"

No problem with residual detergent round here - just interested in what rinsed best.

Seems there is no definitive answer, whatever takes your fancy.

Maybe I'll go with the "spray rinsing" from now on, lot less hassle
