BANGKOK, 18th August 2017 (NNT) - Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan says he is not worried about the supporters of former premier Yingluck Shinawatra turning up at the Supreme Court next week.

In his capacity as deputy prime minister for national security, Gen Prawit said police would be deployed at the Supreme Court on August 25th to keep former Prime Minister’s supporters under control when the court announces its verdict in the rice pledging scheme case.

The police will separate Yingluck’s supporters from those who oppose her to prevent possible chaos.

Gen Prawit has confidence in the safety measures to be deployed on the verdict day, saying no third party would be allowed to instigate tension.

He probably hasn't been told the verdict. Prayut, who does know, is rightfully shitting himself.

which also facilitates allowing one side to throw a party while allowing the police to arrest the other side.

Not worried? Stop banging on about it, then.

Not to mention the army out in the NE getting red shirt leaders to actually sign declarations that they won't protest as per Jonathon Head yesterday - clearly no concerns here at all.

Everything he has said and done in the lead up to the verdict suggests he is worried. 1) people being called in for re-education 2) warnings to supporters 3) fining van drivers bringing in supporters to Bangkok 4) giving the hard word to journalists, etc etc.

Isn't it funny how people do one thing, but then say the complete opposite, yet expect people to believe them. The frightening thing is, there are plenty of people who do believe. For most of us, actions speak louder than words.

Allegedly making opposition leaders sign silly statements saying they will not go to Bangkok sounds like worry.  Given they still ban gatherings and political debate for the last three years, would make one think they have been worried since the day they usurped power.

That third party being the Thai people!

People - don't you wish you had a constitution to give you freedom of tension?

If Prayut's regime wishes to avoid the People's tension, perhaps it should vacation at one of Thailand's ally's beaches in North Korea.

Another option to combat general angst and tension might be not to instigate and perpetuate suppressive and meaningless military dictatorships.

Just saying like.
