Thai Hajj Affairs Office holds meeting to prepare to accommodate Thai Hajj pilgrims

MECCA, 21 August (NNT) - The Thai Hajj Affairs Office has recently held meeting with the official responsible for Maktap, or the temporary accommodations for Hajj pilgrims at Mina field, before the pilgrims are scheduled to travel to Mina field next week. 

Mr. Banyat Yumyuang, Head of the Thai Hajj Affairs Office, chaired a meeting at the Thai Hajj Affairs Office, Mecca, Saudi Arabia, with the officer responsible for Maktap or a temporary accommodation for Hajj pilgrims at Mina field, Arafah, and Musdalifah. 

The meeting was an important preparation for the Thai pilgrims who will be arrive there next week. Under the service plan for Mina field, Arafah, and Musdalifah, many additional facilities will be provided to the Hajj pilgrims. 

The meeting also confirmed that the Saudi head of Maktap will also meet with the representatives of business operators related to the Hajj pilgrim in order to inform the Thai pilgrims on the code of conduct, and other specifics such as the date, time and location for their pilgrimage to Mina field, Arafah, and Musdalifah.

Police suspect stolen pick up trucks converted into car bombs in Pattani

PATTANI: -- Most of the six pickup trucks robbed by southern militaints from a used-car dealer’s shop in Na Thawi district of Songkhla on Aug 16 stopped about one hour in Tambon Tha Rua of Pattani’s Khok Pho district which was suspected to be the location where improvised bombs were fitted onto the vehicles, according to police investigators.

Italian woman charged after viral attack video

BANGKOK: -- An Italian woman, nabbed on Sunday for attacking a Thai female stranger in Bangkok’s Khao San Road area on Saturday, claimed to be drunk and told police that the victim had a “negative attitude” towards her. The assault at a fast food restaurant at 3am on Saturday was captured on video and the clip went viral.
