Arrest warrant issued for former Thai PM Yingluck Shinawatra over court no show, trial delayed to 27 September

Now I see that her lawyer failed to present a medical certificate to vouch for the Menieres disease, which is why the court issued the arrest warrant.  Very odd.  Seems to increase the possibility that she has done a bunk.

Yes to one point and maybe to the other two but she was only a proxy for someone else who clearly doesn't love the normal Thai people at all.  Why would he?  They are not part of his clan and not even Chinese for gossake. They merely served a purpose in getting him power and the ability to steal  loads of their money from them. 

 

I would recommend YL to think for herself and get out while she can, if she hasn't already.  Forget about gooey-eyed sentiment about the rough peasants.  No point in going to prison so bro can maybe have a chance for another round of power, money and corruption.  Take your son and enjoy a life of luxury in the country of your choice. He will still be able to return to Thailand and become a politician, if he is really interested in carrying on the dynasty.  Hopefully his evil uncle will be dead by then.

Again, from what I can make out from translating the latest press reports. Yingluck crossed the Thai Cambodian border in a car yesterday and drove to phnom enh International Airport. Very right.  In the old days those who lost out in military coups, usually military men themselves but past their sell by dates, went into exile quietly and let the new team take their turn at the trough undisturbed.  Thaksin refused to honour this rule and tried unsuccessfully to come back.  Even after having to flee the country, he still came back politically through proxies.  The army has been fighting its toughest war ever since 2006 in trying to stop him and his proxies from coming back.  This is just another battle in that war.  The 2006 junta did a spectacularly feeble job, necessitating a second innings from the current team.   Only time will tell who will win the war. Longer-term time is not on Thaksin's side, which has made him more desperate, but some parts of this current junta are also looking long in the tooth with dwindling popularity that seriously needs a boost, possibly with a change of key personnel that they are unwilling to do.  This battle is actually rather crucial for them and for their enemies.

It's because the immigration officers are concentrated at the arrival hall in Don Muang and Suvarnbhumi.

 

Thailand checkpoints are seriously understaffed.

Funny they could never issue an arrest warant with anh urgency for Red Bull guy.

I expect that the pastry delivery service has different conditions in both cases. Also, if the Police did not get an arrest warrant issued at once, then  people would suspect that they have been receiving pastries. But now that it has been issued, they will probably not act on it as the pastry delivery conditions will state when and how they should act on it. Rich people get what they need.

But the Rice scheme was not a good move. The problem with people who firmly sit on one side or the other of the fence are blind to the facts. The rice Scam was an attempt by Thaksin to bet on the world price of rice, forcing rice prices up on the world commodity market and making million of poor peoples' basic foodstuff much more expensive. He did this, through his proxy "sister" so that the Shins would benefit from the support of the farmers. We know from ages ago that government folks secretly offered her the chance to leave the country and not go through the court process, but she refused, apparently.  I think that she was given a final chance and she took it. How else would she get hold of a helicopter to take her over the border into Cambodia (presumably) from where she can catch a flight to Singapore? The media has reported that she was there. Anyway, the truth will come out by tomorrow.
