what about if you tried democratic and election in the same sentence?

A completely different matter than what you raised initially.

Pleased for you that you are fully up to speed and have your finger firmly on the pulse of the government's policies and directives, especially the back door deals, any chance you could get me included to the inner sanction of the daily decisions?.

Do you have a Thaksin issued V.I.P. visa?

Another mug who thinks that the country's Red-hued PM would initiate the rice pledging scheme, under full scrutiny of the Yellow-hued amart and military, and hope to make a personal killing from it. Especially considering that they are hovering like kitehawks waiting for an excuse for a coup. I realise most politicians aren't Einsteins, but to carry this out right out in the open would have been foolish in the extreme. I get the impression that Yingluck isn't that much of a fool.

No, it was an honest attempt to help the farmers, just like govts in other countries do. Schemes that subsidise the needy are by definition money losing schemes, but they allow people the dignity of carrying on working whilst earning a living wage.

Agree that Yingluck wouldn't have been daft enough to get caught with her hand in the till. Too smart for that given who her brother is. But "it was an honest attempt to help the farmers" - your're having a laugh.

There was no deal what so ever. She ran from justice. with the help of her family, and no one else. It shows she could not care less, about thailand or its people. her god is money.

Although I have no hard evidence, I don't really think it's conceivable that she fled without collusion of the powers that be.

And here we go...

The cries of "negligence!" for every action or inaction in Thailand will be loud and clear for a long time, followed by demands for accountability and inevitable criminal charges. And if/when something happens and charges are not proffered, there will be the usual cries of 'double standard!'.

I don't believe that the gentlemen named above should be punished for negligence, nor do I think Yingluck should have been charged. Not every action is criminal; many are done in good faith, many are stupid, and many just simply happen.

But, here we are.

Enjoy

Normally there is a price to pay for being stupid... try it sometime lets see if you can get away with it.... She should PAY..

I am waiting for an enterprising news reporter...possibly from the BBC to interview Yingluck...and ask her questions as to how she "fled" the country.

Either that or Yingluck herself will post the chain of events via social media.

Either way it's such a newsworthy story...that how she fled the country..will be revealed.....including the people who helped her......

Part of the deal would be silence and protection for her family.

They won't get her back, she is probably off to London to see the Redbull Heir and they can't get him.  How long has it been now?  Brother in Dubai, can't get him either.  One needs to learn to walk before they can run.

As i read this i can see it has the 'earmarks' of being written by some farang married into a 'red-shirt' family......

""I get the impression that Yingluck isn't that much of a fool."" (end Quote)   Did you get that impression from the 'red-shirt' family???

""No, it was an honest attempt to help the farmers"" (end quote)   Maybe try: an honest attempt of a crooked government (Yingluck's) to funnel a lot of money into their own pockets and 'throw the farmers a crumb'....... The Shinawatra's knew that you could buy the poor farmers cheaper than any other large population, and since they had already won the hearts of those poor farmers that those poor farmers would never suspect them of being crooked and just chalk the losses up to 'accident'........ It might have worked...........

But if you still believe that Yingluck is innocent, go be a witness in the courts and................... ALSO try to explain it all to the poor families whose family members 'committed Suicide' because of not getting their money to pay off their own commitments, because of her 'criminal rice scheme'.........

So there might a new Thai movie coming out soon. I wonder what the name would be.
We already have:
  • Escape from Atlantis
  • Escape from New York
  • Escape from L.A.
  • Escape from Alcatraz
  • The great Escape
Options:
  • The YL escape
  • Escape from Bangkok
  • Escape from Thailand
  • Escape from ...
I also wonder if there would be some action in it. Or is it only a one liner: "We just paid an immigration officer"...

Maybe the one liner is "I'll be back"

The Shins are generous to a fault mate. Its a well known fact, throughout the land. Sometimes they give the keys to their new Cadillac, to a complete stranger. They see on the street.

Synopsis

Good-looking Thai socialite multi billionaire seeks meaning beyond a life of privilege and decides that what she needs is even more privilege. She embarks on a short, un-arduous journey from sister and wife and friend of prime ministers to...prime minister.

Jealous people with less perfect skin topple her from power with a gentle but insistent nudge and proceed to persecute her for the crime of caring too much ("is it so wrong to take from the poor and give to myself?" She asks poignantly in a not at all touching dramatic scene). Exhausted from shopping and having to answer for her deeds, she executes a flawless leisurely escape, a jaunt, if you will, in a private jet.

Official hands faux wring in faux frustration at this dastardly simple slip faux flummoxed the best and brightest of Thai Security forces.

The film ends with champagne corks popping in an undisclosed location in a luxurious penthouse suite with a view of the Arabian Sea.

The name of the film, why of course:

Rice Work if You Can Get it.

Posted

Ofcourse now the bird has flown THEN you try to revoke passport !! But sure army and governement didnt help her to get away.

Same thing as with the red bull heir.

And ofcourse you let murderers get into the country , like Joran vd Sloot.

Some Russian maffioso and Budha knows how many more of those "people".

And so on the same note there is no corruption in Thailand....

Do me a favour!!!

He has an island in Croatia, right next to Italy. You think she has a European passport now?

I thought he bought the island in Montenegro (very close to Croatia), and as a way to show their appreciation the Montenegrin government made him an honorary citizen and he was given a Montenegrin passport.
