Tourism and Sports Ministry reveal the progress of the 24th SEA Games

Minister of Tourism and Sports Suwit Yodmanee (สุวิทย์ ยอดมณี), revealed the progress of the 24th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games).

Mr. Suwit said that the budget to run the international games have not been concluded yet, adding that 740 million baht allocated from the government is still inadequate.

Mr. Suwit said that the budget should be completed within January so all implementation will go in line with its plan. He said that the ministry will also promote body building and squash to be included in the 24th SEA Games.

Tourism and Sports Minister urged the 24th Sea Games budget to be addressed quickly

Tourism and Sports Minister Suvit Yodmani said the committees from different sectors have yet to finalize the 740-million-baht budget for Thailand to host the 24th Sea Games. He said the budget has to be concluded soon so the request for an additional fund can be made to the government on time if the original amount becomes insufficient.

He said the budget issue needs to be addressed before the end of this month.

In addition, Mr. Suvit is attempting to introduce bodybuilding and squash in the 24th Sea Games.

Nakhon Ratchasima Governor: New stadium for 24th SEA Games will be completed in time

Nakhon Ratchasima Governor Somboon Ngamlak (สมบูรณ์ งามลักษณ์) affirms that the construction of the new stadium which will be used as the main stadium of the 24th SEA Games will be finished in June this year as scheduled. The province has planned to discuss the renovation of other stadiums with the SEA Games organizing committee later.

The 24th SEA Games will take place during 6-15 December this year at Nakhon Ratchasima.

The governor added that the province, local administrations, and municipalities have mobilized money to help support the organization of the SEA Game, aside from the budget of 200 million baht allocated to the province by the government.
