Guilty your honour, I done it

So I got suspended and one eternal point on my licence. My apologies to all who wish for a civilised forum but I cannot tolerate bad manners especially when they come from my own countrymen,  ie the English.  When a man comes to this site and declares he respects maybe 2 or 3 and the rest are idiots (his words) he slags us all off.

Moderators, you have the hardest of tasks. Freedom of speech and expression are vital to our culture.  Your rules are plain, I broke them.  This will not be repeated.

No, we will let this run for a time, but be aware that discussing moderation is against the forum rules.   If you have questions, you may contact a moderator by PM.

As long as the discussion centers on the demeanor of posters (not by name), then a discussion is permitted.

Please post with care.

Are you sure you read the mans post correctly?.

If i recal you was bikering with the poster.

The post you was refering to was i belive this.

"What is it a lot of my aquaintances say openly on FB or other Thailand forums  or whilst socialising. Oh yes Thai Visa only one or two people on there who i listen too the rest are all experts on nothing, or i'm  only on there to wind some idiots up.

Says it all really."

As you will see the poster did not call anybody an idiot he/she was quoting what others had said.

You make an entirely valid point...

Differences of opinion are an important aspect of life and when discussed respectfully these differences help us understand one another.

It is when someone is unable to accept these differences and their lack of intellect plays an important role in their failure to respect these differences and instead try to 'win'... their arguments often become moronic and the flame wars and personal insults begin.

Sometimes these flames wars are amusing, but many times they consume an interesting thread, some guys perhaps get a kick out of ruining things for others.

'...freedom is a state much prized within the realm of civilized society. It is a bond wherewith the savage man may charm the outward hatchments of his soul, and soothe the troubled breast into a magnitude of quiet. It is most precious as a blessed balm, the saviour of princes, the harbinger of happiness, yea, the very stuff and pith of all we hold most dear.'

I do not criticise the Moderators.  I believe you have the most difficult job to do balancing freedom of speech against pure prejudice. I salute you.

Although I enjoy TV very much, I do not take the comments of other posters too seriously. I don`t consider TV and facebook as a mainstream of my life and usually if I find posts on threads irritating or insulting I just move on to another thread. I would never take any posts on TV as being personally aimed at me and suggest you do the same. In-fact most of the members on here are not a bad group although some do get carried away at times, including me.

Just a point, but why  does someone need to quote a comment, not attributed to himself, to the world forum of the internet. He  posted it, he meant it.

I presume you are referring to my post on here. I quoted the poster to give some clarity to your initial accusation which was incorect.

you uncoil mate, you started it. I will if you will, lets call the whole thing off.  Can't find your quote, sounds a bit Gungha Din, Kiplinesque. Do enlighten me.

I really dont understand you what exactly have i started? I replied to your op to show what you said about a poster is incorrect. You have not replied to that. It seems to me ascthough you are trying to invite some sort of repsones from anyone. Then maybe that was your intent at the beginning of the thread.

Try to get a holiday for someone as you had?

I'm bored now and wish to kill this thread. You should  read your incoherent response when you're sober.  My 14 years connection with this country has resulted in life changing events, ie Australian citizenship and first world  education and apprenticeships for my Thai stepchildren.  I have much affection for this country, no love.  We have land and a farm to build up so those children have a good legacy. Leave it at that, no more comment.

Totaly incoherent lol But who really cares. If you ever care to answer the questions feel free. One more are you Australian or brithish? You stated in your op

"especially when they come from my own countrymen,  ie the English."

You then go on to say your thai step sons have Australian Citizenship. So you must be an australian citizen. So you should have said especially when they come from my old countrymen. Surley?

55 years an Englishman then ten more working in Melbourne.  I take nothing from Australia, a few trips to to the doc is all, wonderful, marvelous country, I love its people, straight to your face, call you mate, first name terms instantly. Informality from the first moment.     I have dual UK/Oz nationality but if required to give up one I  would say with the heaviest of hearts  I would give up my Britishness.
