Chinese Man Arrested in Thailand After 14 Years on the Run
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
He's very short....maybe he was hiding in a primary school. -
You know, it really is about time that legislation was introduced to allow people to take, eat, swallow, inject, stick up your backside, anything that grows naturally and whose composition is not changed in processing......this includes weed, krater, mushrooms, and in my opinion opium. Just my opinion. Having said that any idiot or conman that sells this stuff with a disregard for the actual law deserves what he gets.

When I was in the US I used to take Axert ( al long half life that kicked Imitrex's butt). When I retired I moved to Thailand and my migraines more or less disappeared. I sed to figure at least one a week while I worked. I still always keep some Relpax handy (2 pills for 250baht) but I bet I don't take more than 2 pills a year. I think the stress of the job, hundreds of long haul flights, time changes, poor sleeping, stupid deadlines, presentations to hundreds (or thousands) of people.....fortunately I was able to retire early at 54.

I'm a 179 dayer. A mate of mine that hates paying taxes and who pays no taxes at all, tells me I'm stupid, and that Thais cannot possibly tax income from abroad because they are too stupid. He's taking zero precautions. I just smiled. Better safe that sorry I say. I'm also 179 dayer this year, because I don't wish to file a tax return for 2024 taxes even though all the remittances made were from savings. For those that file a tax return this year, you do realise you are giving all of your details to the tax people here, which I think means they can question your taxes any time they wish to in the future. I feel rather safe than sorry should be the policy here.

Destination Thailand Visa Gains Popularity Among Expats

God sales of this vista musty be pitiful; they are trying to hard with articles every week. -
New travel rules: Thailand’s ETA to shake up visa-free visitors
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This might be the end for me. Thailand is not that great a place that I will risk all my trips abroad on dodgy Thai websites to come back. -
Thailand promotes quality products at Times Square
retarius replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Instead of BS promotion why not actually produce some high quality products and show them to the world to see if they can compete in the world market for quality goods? -
Just adding the following. I am scared stiff of Thailand becoming the hub of nuclear engineering. I have nightmares about Thailand joining the nuclear powered nations because a total disaster is sure to follow soon after it goes into operation. Someone will have saved money using cheap cement bought of a shady politician. Sad but True.

Tim Walz Subpoenaed in Federal Investigation of Covid Aid Fraud Scheme
retarius replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Maybe I'm biased, but I'm sure he is guilty as a fraudster. Stealing federal money....but it usually goers unpunished look at Dick Cheney's Halliburton that claimed millions of dollars for meals for troops that were never delivered. -
I have bank accounts in 3 countries including Thailand. The addresses on the bank accounts in the two other countries are local and I pay the pittance in tax on the interest earned to the respective governments. I've never had any query from my banks abroad although I have never kept it a secret that I live abroad. This year, I will not be resident in Thailand for tax purposes and will choose one of the other countries, where I have the most taxable income as my tax home. This is a pre-emptive move on my part as I do not want to file a Thai tax return for 2024 year and I will spend less than 179 or fewer days here. Also the proposal in 2025 for Thailand to tax world wide income of tax residents is anathema to me. Filing your first return drags you into the tax system and allows the tax department to question you about anything they can dream up....no thanks.

Ordering Ozempic From MedConsult Clinic in Bangkok
retarius replied to Chopper's topic in Health and Medicine
I tried the stuff. Lost 8kg (though I think it was 6-7kg of muscle and 1-2 kg of fat)....my clothes size didn't change at all. My problem was nausea, which meant I didn't feel like eating. At the low doses of 0.25mg the nausea was tolerable, at 0.5 the nausea was terrible and not tolerable at all. The other issue is that you are supposed to get used to eating much less food and then develop a lifestyle of eating less food which will stabilise you at a lower weight. I have now seen many friends, who like myself have yo-yoed. Take Ozempic, lose 8 kg, stop Ozempic and gain 10 kg. It's not for me. -
Getting current medications prescriptions for travel
retarius replied to decline's topic in Health and Medicine
I take both pregabalin and tramadol, along with duloxetine for diabetic neuropathic pain. They work absolutely fantastically. They are all available over the counter or cheaper, via mail order from Bangkok. I pay 5 baht a 50mg cap for tramadol and 2000 baht for pregabalin 56 x 50mg caps. I have trouble getting duloxetine generic....I get offered it at the brand price of 2000 baht for 28 capsules. I had to buy some in another country last year, 2000 baht equivalent for 100 caps. The US patent expired in 2014. -
We have a butcher in the market who calls us when she gets a filet or another decent cut of meat. Usually the restaurants grab the best stuff so it is not always available, but when it is we buy plenty for the freezer. I usually marinade in soy sauce before cooking and I get the heat up real high and sear each side of the meat then cook about 3 minutes per side. Medium rare.

Ordering Ozempic From MedConsult Clinic in Bangkok

The hospital I used in BKK wanted 15000. I told them to pound sand. -
I just pissed myself. Brilliant stuff. What a hypocrite Walz is? I have my suspicions about his sexual predilections as well. He just has that 'look' and has had the opportunities.

Thailand's Major Crackdown: 177,000 Myanmar Workers Arrested
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
These senseless crackdowns. Punish the employers with heavy fines and prison terms. -
I'm struggling with a similar issue wishing to spend only 179 days a year in Thailand. I have a non-O visa based on retirement. I thought I would take this opportunity to ditch it and use the new 60 day visa and extend it to 90 days. The main reason for this is that I want to ditch the passport that the visa is currently in and have use the passport that has a friendlier tax policy. I don't need to make the decision now as extension is not until March next year. My problem with using the 60 day route is that Thailand changes immigration laws like I change my underwear and there is no guarantee that they won't do away with that visa leaving me trying for a Non O again.

Government to Restrict Use of Digital Gadgets in Schools
retarius replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Great policy, was needed much earlier, but better late than never. Introduce digital fads to older students when they are 15+ and in the upper High school grades 10 to 12. -
