  1. The longest we had to wait for it arrive was well over 45 days from the date of application. That is one of the main reasons (the under consideration period) why I switched to retirement Edit: This was in 2019, applied on Jan 7th got the extension on 22 Feb
  2. Car insurance of the party in the wrong?
  3. I totally don't mind, when leaving the IO, I look at a couple of things Stamps and 90 day report is when, and then put that date in my Phone so I am not late reporting.
  4. But you hate that practice. Am I right Jack? ???? Edit: I remember a "rant" about it a couple months ago
  5. Sept 6th - Nov22 is only 77 days but you can report 15 days early. So ....
  6. Do you want another scenario? Our local IO resets the 90 day report date on every YEAR extension. Example: 2022 I applied for a new extension on January 6th. My 90 day report was due Feb 1, after I left the office my new 90 day report slip said to report on April 5th.. But that said not all IO's do this, only a few.
  7. The one I am talking about is your first extension (Non-O), after that, when you for example enter Thailand with a Re-Entry permit, your report is due 89 days after you arrive (day of arrival counts as day 1 even if you get stamped in at 23:59 ???? )
  8. that is not the question, did you only read the topic title? This is the question
  9. AFAIK the 1st application for a Non-O visa is also the date that the 90 day starts. Edit: https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=1666
  10. They most certainly do. Now is Rice Harvest season and people are drying their rice outside and many birds (when the owner of the rice is away) will come and eat the rice. And that rice has still it's husk. So with plain white rice its even easier from them (the birds that is ???? )
  11. +1 Freezing will kill them all and the eggs, and after the freezing (4-5 days at -18c) you can then easily wash them out as they will float (incl the grains were they hatched from as those will also float).
  12. FYI but I doubt you care you have to put the rice in the Freezer for at least 4-5 days at a minimum temperature of -18c https://www.gcca.org/resources/industry-topics/what-best-way-handle-rice-contains-weevils
  13. It is posted in the Bangkok News Forum thus Bangkok
  14. I tend to agree, but AFAIK (now) a lot of the rice we (all) consume has already a lot of those insects in them. And I have never been sick eating plain cooked rice. The only thing is of course to cook the rice and not eat it raw. I will of course try to remove (and I think already succeeded) to remove the plainly visible ones. (Also found a very small black stone in the bought rice when washing it (or maybe it was something else ???? )
  15. Wow thx a lot. I have Doc appointment in BKK and Pattaya next month so will most certainly visit. Good surprise for the wife Thx again, really appreciated
  16. What I now understand yes, but if I can already see them in the sealed BAG I would prefer to buy one that doesn't have them. I must say this is of course NOT Fool Proof.
  17. Personally no problems with overweight / constipation so I am still keep eating rice Putting it out in the SUN and then washing / rinsing it often seems to be the trick.
  18. Have a look at the thread and not only the 1st post, some good options have emerged already and as I understand it's still perfectly good rice to eat. 1- Wash/rinse it often so the insects wash away with the water. 2- Put the rice out in the sun (so the insects leave) I have done option 2 and it seems to be working quite well, still seeing a couple (but those will wash out)
  19. Thx Bill. Also some good options have emerged from the thread 1- Freeze the bag of rice for a couple of Days to kill the insects and the eggs 2- Put the Rice on something so you spread it out and put that out in the sun, the insects will leave Both options still of course mean wash/rinse the rice thoroughly before cooking ????
  20. Tried to send you a PM but I believe you turned that receiving PM's off. Care to share the location of this place. Wifey has seen Tulips in Europe, Singapore so it would be awesome for her to seen them in her home country. Thx!
  21. Thanks, yes already mentioned elsewhere, but not so elaborate as your post especially the kill fungi or mold spores bit
  22. It just means people trying to be helpful for which I am very grateful, and I do hope when you open a topic asking for advice/help. that you get helpful responses as well instead of .... remarks.
  23. Cancelled AFAIK https://www.facebook.com/RoyalPassengerLiner/ or https://www.pattayaunlimited.com/pattaya-to-hua-hin-ferry-tickets/
  24. Min 19c is ours set to. If you can find the numbers please let me know. But I guess SWMBO will be totally against it to freeze rice Edit: Found it https://www.gcca.org/resources/industry-topics/what-best-way-handle-rice-contains-weevils So 0°F is approx -18°c
