  1. Try another branch of BB, sometimes staff just lazy or think talking with a farang is to hard or they are misinformed about what they can do. I have had a BB refuse to change money for me Have a BB account, I just argued nicely with them pointing out they are a bank, they do operate an exchange service, they asked if I was a BB customer said yes, they asked if I will deposit the exchanged money into my account, I said no as am going shopping. With great relutance they exchanged the money. I also have a Kasikorn account which has online banking, able to pay bills and able to transfer money to other banks. Better bank. Recommend them highly
  2. Thank you Sheryl, I have read comments on other posts and you seem very knowledgeable, are you ex medical field? (please note this is a good comment towards you, not to be taken as a dig in anyway) Thought better to be clear in my comment.
  3. Thank you, good website with being able to do a quick check before proceeding futher.
  4. Thank you, have the details on April Global from AA, am looking to compare policys with other companys
  5. Am looking for health insurance, live in Thailand aged 64. I am already in touch with AA brokers in Hua Hin (who have recommended WRLife insurance), looking for other options and quotes on other insurance companies.
  6. Also if you had Covid vaccine shts here then get the Vaccince passport cost is 50baht and lasts one year, you will also need Covid Insurance for $3million US
  7. It may be a good idea to safe guard yourself and get as many people as you can from the appartments and file a joint complaint with the police, the reason is to show what has happen and there is an official record and by doing a group action/complaint to the police you are not putting your head on the block by yourself. As for compensation from the person who ran off with your money forget about it. As other people have said stay until the deposit has been paid for by not paying rent but do save the monthly rent in an account so you have it if required. Once the deposit has been recovered by staying in the condo then leave. Make sure you also leave the condo in good order and clean, plus take photos before you leave and if you have someone to give the keys back to then get them to check the appartment and make a video of the inspection.
  8. LMG which offers the cheapest option. It is so cheap because the policy has a 200,000 baht deductible. This does not matter for the immigration, the insurance certificate you will receive, will guaranteed be accepted. The annual premium is around 7,700 baht.
  9. Now he wears a helment after being arrested, he not so silly, he knows where the danger is
  10. Honda Click good bike for around town if you want to travel further then 150i, remember most road deaths in Thailand are on scooters, safer in a car even in town. If moving to Bangkok then I suggest car
  11. You need to read all the threads, I was wrong, mother cannot sell the house, I admitted my error in a early thread
  12. You are correct, gf cannot sell the house (I was wrong) I just checked with my Thai friend who is a judge he confirmed cannot sell the house, If gf needs money to look after the child she can get with a loan, may need to get courts permission for the loan on the house
  13. you are the legal father on the birth certificate but if not married to the childs mother you HAVE NO legal rights. I have two children here and am not married so am in the same position and I checked it out with a friend who is thai and is Judge in the legal system here.
  14. Also note that a parent has legal control over a child until they are 20 years old, so your gf can sell the house even if it is in the daughters name. Maybe better to set up a company with you in control and have the ownership of the house passing over to the daughter when she is 20 years old (even if you have passed away). You as the father have no legal rights or say over your child in anyway or form. If you were married and had joint custody then you would have a legal say, yet once again even married things maynot go your way. Seek legal advice
  15. He as in the head of the school, and as the OP stated "Also he may not want to end up in the Labor courts for sacking me when he's the one who's broken the contract of employment.." I agree the courts unlikly take a case against the government and the new T&Cs when signing a teachers contract may carry vaccination is required to teach. Already some companies in the west are saying that being vaccinated is part of working in the future. Airlines is a classic example, all but two airlines in the USA say staff must be vaccinated and I would not be surprised that passengers may in the future have to show a certificate. https://www.forbes.com/sites/suzannerowankelleher/2021/10/03/major-us-airlines-vaccine-mandates/?sh=2ce2723c73d9
  16. Do you really think he would be worried about the labour courts? You really need to wake up to the reality of living here.
  17. Stop complaining, you had a choice, either get the vaccine as per terms of employment or not that was your choice.
  18. Yes, been there, to be honest I do not have much faith in flights flying on time at the moment. Have had 3 Nok air flights cancelled and moved to different days in two cases and have had Thai Air move the flight date by 2 days. This was over the May 2021 to end of July 2021 time frame. As for PCR test, I do not think you need one but hopefully you have been vaccinated and have the Hospital certificate which would be wise to carry with you when traveling. You can get a “yellow book” vaccine passport which costs 50Baht and lasts for 1 year, but that is for overseas travel.
  19. All ways good service and great rates. I find it is best to transfer between Monday and Thursday, do not transfer on a weekend as you will not get the money until the next working business day (Monday) and watch out for public holidays in Thailand or your home country as that will delay the transfer by a day or more Otherwise very good
  20. If you are looking at paying around 20K a year and at your age it may be worth looking at Health insurance that covers not only accidents, and also many offer the Covid insurance required by immagration as part of the parcel. just a thought and no lost in checking it out. AA insurance brokers are good https://www.aainsure.net/
