  1. Well, when I wore a younger man's clothes, an early evening dalliance 'calmed the waters' so I could have fun, without dragging one around with me, I could usually find what you preferred later on. At some point I would settle down with a keeper.... I used to arrive in Pattaya somewhat hyper from KSA!
  2. No not at all, that would simply be public I suppose. Just easier to find. As you say, short time rooms. Yes a few joints specialized in full view, although I often wondered if that was the way the guy liked it, or he was too cheap to pay a ST room.
  3. First encountered in soapy massage places by yours truly, many years ago, in a time when the average bargirl was likely horrified by the idea.....then some enterprising guys started places like Bliss and Lolitas. Became commonplace with MPs jumping in on the offering.
  4. Not sure if that is viable. I think it is an ugly monstrosity that spoils the area and should never have been approved.
  5. Unless you are a boxer or professional fighter, you sound like a person to avoid!
  6. Yes, and if not adept with fists, shoot, and still remain free. Best not to provoke I suppose.
  7. Yes, started in 2008 and here we are with this mess unresolved.
  8. I agree the mozzies seem bad this year.....and I get the garden fogged monthly. Beginning to regret not fitting insect screens.
  9. I guess you mean Marlin... a bit optimistic here in this area. I used to go out some years ago, queen fish, king fish, we even got a sailfish once. Some years ago, and I was led to believe not many fish about of late. Best trip we ever did was an all night and day trip out from Koh Chang, but we also left from Sattahip or Bang Saray, and motored out for some hours. Pattaya Sports Club used to organize trips, the groups were six to 10 guys mostly, but they need to pack a few in to make the price low enough. The boat needs to bring live squid for best results. I gave up as I found it exhausting, early start, a long day, and a drive home usually in bad traffic.
  10. And the guy whose car bonnet is being used maybe?
  11. Better not, I am being baited though!
  12. Sure, although the chance is of being caught by another drunk driver in a pickup.
  13. I have yet to be asked for my passport at a road check anywhere not near the northern borders...and this is the Pattaya forum. I suppose a tourist would be nervous if he had overstayed... of being likely to get locked up in short order. I would not want to toss my passport though.
  14. I can think of 3 without much effort. Two at least are no longer there but the service has become more commonplace.
  15. It used to be safer out there when the Chinese tourists were less independent, and were only seen out in large groups, being taken between the tourist sites.
  16. Socks, are well known as a hiding place and I suggest an alternative is found, particularly where such sums are involved.
  17. These people are peeping toms/voyears... they watch tourists on the beach and under piers too. I see the article seems to smoothly shift the blame onto tourists too, when of course that is unlikely to be the case at the railway station. I am more concerned by the mess the roadworks are making near there at the Railway Line Bypass Rd, and Soi SIam CC junction.
  18. Yes, much needed as we have finished high season, and enter the low season, and places are empty!
  19. Perhaps I need to stop living in the distant past. 😄
  20. I remember picking up a monk who appeared to be thumbing for a ride once in the north. Put him in the rear bench seat of the truck. He was a right PIA, wouldn't stop talking and couldn't get rid of him! Kept changing his destination. Never again.
  21. Have they really halted the thieving by simply arresting the guy stripping down/fencing the bikes? The people doing the thieving will need more beer and Yabba soon and be out on the prowl again.
  22. The Base and The Edge pre date this particular complex. The prior beer bars (one a live music venue) were small ventures making much less noise.... Planning permission was given I suppose, too late now. Perhaps these overpriced little boxes in the sky should have better sound insulation.
  23. Why? We all probably know which one is meant, but I wonder what the incentive is to be secretive. So many people are saying it is the residents own fault for living in that area, but this complex has only been there for under a year.... and much was said about how it had AC and would be sound proofed. That said, I used the adjacent hotel, which has been there many many years prior, and was not disturbed. I think I got to bed before 4am.
  24. Well er, yes!
