  1. Time for muumuus...😀
  2. It is famous for roadworks and traffic......and more to come apparently. Can't even keep a famous landmark fountain working!
  3. For the bike,( and often in the truck), I am usually on The Railway Line Bypass Rd and will use Soi SIam CC. and cut through near Numchai/ Bangkok Bank.
  4. Been some years since I got there.... my first trip I was expected to jump into the sea and wade ashore from a boat... they were there asking for the National Park Entry money before my feet got wet! I got bitten to death by mosquitoes and was kept awake by bullfrogs.....Koh Chang I took to better, but that was quite an effort to get to.
  5. I have been to quite a few..... happy not to have to get up and go to a bar as I would in the UK. Paying after each drink just gives them more opportunity to short change you! The other factor in Thailand is they seem to only trust a single person to be a cashier, and that is rather a bottle neck.
  6. I must admit to having seen many using it in the last several months.... likely for convenience and lack of policing. Same with the flyover towards the motorway. I personally don't, plenty of alternatives and the heavy traffic make it more risky.
  7. If you wanted an idiot to answer your question, you got it!
  8. It doesn't happen in the' rest of the world'... many many other places allow tabs to be run up......every restaurant for example! Stop being disingenuous. Easier for staff to collect once, rather than several times.
  9. Rather than improve infrastructure, bring in less discerning tourists eh?
  10. Phuket too...... fond memories of going there a long time ago... it was actually reasonably priced too. Had a wonderful lobster meal for under $20.
  11. I suspect more Thais were hit by vehicles that day in the country.
  12. Well they might have looked better prior to being rearranged by a kick. What is it with these people, is it some Nationwide revenge for the grumpy Swiss guy on the beach steps in Phuket?
  13. That suggestion comes up frequently, and is cited as a way of keeping an eye on things.....I have never thought it practical or necessary, certainly with the modern POS systems many bars use. It is also a waste of staff resources. If a customer choses to do things that way, it is his choice and no issue... but I would prefer to keep running a tab when out.
  14. What on Earth are you on about. This country excels at staying out of conflict and appeasing all.
  15. Well being 'slower' would make crossing the road more dangerous!
  16. Let ir go, beyond recovery. Now I hear Koh Samet is quite nice.
  17. There are reports coming out that he may not quite be the man we all believe..... having a wife and record back in UK is one item I read of....but One the face of it, some boorish Russian acting lewd to his 'daughter' or wife justifies a slap.
  18. Sort of how City work goes here........
  19. Sounds like a typical Scots night out to me!
  20. So the band is back at the start of it's playlist..... 'Play it Again Sam'..... Let us schedule some more markets selling dodgy food and plastic tat.... we can close down Beach Rd at weekends and make some real mayhem.... all the traffic can go down Sois Diana, Honey and Buakhao.....
  21. Yes, did mine there after my cat took to clawing it... then put one of those stretching black fishnet things over it!
  22. Since it happened in a swimming pool it has absolutely nothing to do with Thai oceans!
  23. I think you are rather getting away from the topic.......this was in a Pattaya Condo pool and a guy with a Thai wife and a daughter.
  24. I got the impression this was an older guy quite used to regular swimming.....as I do most mornings.
