Go Wholesale
My Mrs would serve me a separate plate when I visited the village and family....every drumstick had been picked and prodded by fingers straight from the fields that hadn't seen a sink yet. I can live with not knowing what happens in the raw stage, but expect staff to be gloved, and masked too!

New tax era in Thailand begins as Revenue now shares data with 138 countries within the OECD
But I did not ask for that.... simply a number relating to Thai tax allowances. Had I wanted the full regulations and procedures, I would have asked for that, or bought the book. I would hope the forum could help with that!

I thought it was the same for all (mostly) in the UK. Only us Expats have frozen ones that may vary a little as they are fixed to what it was first time paid out. As far as I know all UK State pensions are less than the UK tax threshold (personal allowance) and I also dispute that they 'vary widely'.

That is the reality, nobody really knows much as it has not been detailed yet.. and we have a thread of 210 pages of people offering opinion and in depth knowledge.

Absolutely, I am retired. If I ask someone how are the wife and kids, I want the short answer, not a tome of several chapters.

Are you having a laugh? I have not read anything that long since I did my Uni studies! If presented with that I would be tempted to just say 'how much do you want!

Probably 'stated' as the latter to reserve the right to future amendments!

The UK state pension falls below the level requiring tax, ie less than the personal tax free allowance for the UK. So tax free. It does however qualify for Thai taxation by amount. I hope you are correct of course.

In Total 7,864 Drunk Driving Cases Reported in Seven Days of Thailand New Year Road Safety Campaign
Not the sort of thing I would publicize, being a thief. (Although I suspect it was fantasy). A return finger, call an ambulance and that would be my idea.

Doctors send report on Thaksin’s illnesses to Corrections Department
Smokescreens, delaying tactics....I don't believe a word of it. Not mant ailments require such a long protracted stay in hospital

Buying raw chicken and vegetables Jomtien beach
Where do they get it I wonder, been in a freezer a year or two maybe. My Mrs cooks at home and meat comes from the local wet market.... can't say I have had issue.... seen stuff looking off wrapped in plastic in supermarkets, and they have their tricks too!

My observations for a recent trip to Pattaya.
Probably couldn't afford it despite cheaper alcohol! Other bills like heating, rent, water, transport, repairs dwarf Thailand costs. Big worry item is medical services here though!

Using Bolt with a foreign credit card
Just don't update the book... then, when you do, it is simply a consolidated single line. I know some need this for the 800k proof to immigration, re retirement extension, but for my last one I had to provide a statement showing the last six months anyhow. I also keep that 800k in a Fixed deposit, isolated from my day to day little transactions.... for fear of going under requirements! So Bolt want folks to give a free lump sum for them to keep, to go with the many others, True money, Lazada, AIS...... all playing banker. !

Condo's Without Security & Lobby Staff
I would appreciate the 'security' myself, don't want any oddbods or drunks wandering about...... That said, seen quite a few smaller condos that seem not to bother, but they often have camera surveillance. Would that be a concern?

Using Bolt with a foreign credit card
I can certainly see and appreciate 'tap and go' type convenience, to pay for a grab/bolt...... but would hate to see the removal of the cash option, like Uber, UK did once. Very inconvenient when I returned there and needed a cab from the railway station. I would use a separate account from my retirement fund, One that has less in it and I top up as needed. I already cover utility bills that way.
