  1. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 84 seconds
  2. Probably just a typo but for accuracy £12,570
  3. No, what has been said is that the "State" pension is definitely not classed as a govt. pension under the terms of the DTA from a UK perspective and as such potentially assessable. However, again as previously stated, how TRD will view it is potentially open to interpretation. You just seem to want to keep on stirring the pot for no discernible reason...... Oh and to one of your other posts about collecting tax see here potentially for relevance - make of it what you will - https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-13687737/Half-million-taxpayers-set-receive-tax-demand-letter-HMRC-Heres-one.html?ico=mol_desktop_money-newtab&molReferrerUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fmoney%2Findex.html
  4. Personally I think he is just being "difficult" which unfortunately has been a long standing trait in these threads. I wouldn't presume to offer an opinion on Oz taxation but ...........
  5. Many Thai Insurance cos. have removed flooding or limited it to 1000baht after that time - that's what mine did and I think it was still owned by a NZ company at the time.
  6. Was that just a replacement for your previous SCB debit/atm card as it had run out? I ask as mine expires later this year.
  7. I think you may be out of luck if you are living in Thailand and you have declared that. https://www.gov.uk/deferring-state-pension/if-you-move-abroad
  8. I just completed this quiz. My Score 90/100 My Time 77 seconds
  9. Executor of the will
  10. No. The DTA digest clearly shows that the state pension is not included in the DTA - as has been discussed ad nauseum in tax threads for the last 9 months....... Page 34 Thailand see note 4 on the far right https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/710099/DT_Digest_April_2018.pdf As the previous poster mentioned whether they would bother is another story.
  11. Thanks for the clarification. My calculator obviously uses different batteries to theirs as my 20% figures are about £2 more....
  12. Apologies Mke but just for accuracy what figure did you use for the PA as I get a couple of pounds difference to your UK tax paid numbers? Thanks
  13. In Pattaya I have seen Chinese families and individual travellers eating in local noodle shops with no more than 10/12 tables and then bus loads of them eating at buffet places specifically for the Chinese tour groups.......
  14. I presume you are taking the pish........
  15. Been posted quite a few times already. Non doms in the UK. https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/residence-domicile-and-remittance-basis/rdrm36130
  16. I have no idea why you are deflecting - I pointed you to a specific place in that document that states - In case you have forgotten this was in reply to this post of yours -
  17. Interesting article thanks although it is not what the OP was asking
  18. see my post above - he is wrong.
  19. I think any lack of understanding on this is yours. Been discussed more times than I care to remember. Have a look in the digest link below and go to page 34 - Thailand - and read note 4 on the far right hand side. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/710099/DT_Digest_April_2018.pdf
  20. Potential delivery at 4am in the morning..........no thanks (but yes for some it may be appropriate and or good to have the option)
  21. Featured topics today 2nd newsletter - one of the items. IMO the Featured topic list heading is misleading compared to the topic title. And this seems almost to be the case for many of the Featured Items. So my question is why? Legal Crisis? We've Got Answers! The actual topic title from a member is - Question for those with legal knowledge. For @george the change is pushing me away from bothering to read the Featured Topics which I am guessing is the opposite effect of that intended.
  22. Agreed. Made us read it however.......
  23. Both SCB and Bangkok Bank quote Android 8 and above for their mobile banking apps - I am sure it will soon change to 9 but that's a long way from 11..........
