  1. Thanks. I went through that pretty much all that list fairly recently to try and identify what if any I may use this year. I have a list of 7 from it under £20 which included Andica. Can you confirm how you file as I believe you download their software which is what I prefer vs. the cloud based providers? Any negatives?
  2. Sorry Mike but for the average retired person, and most people who are learning about this stuff for the first time, do you really see that happening in the near future? As you keep pointing out the only change in the law has been one directive and you seem to be suggesting that is enough for the Thai RD to suddenly switch their focus to chasing all the 65k per month direct remitted retirees......... I agree with your statement but I am very unsure that the time is now - agree to disagree Unless I have misunderstood you "savings interest" has not been taxed at source for a couple of years (actually checking seems to be around 2016....). You need to declare it (supposed to) on a tax return if over the threshold for your tax level which with current interest rates many people will breach.
  3. You can buy/rent commercial software for less than £50, several different providers and or file by paper which is the cost of a stamp........(all be it posting a UK tax return from here has got much more expensive in the last couple of years). For most people why would you need an accountant?
  4. 555. I was wondering.....Thanks However if I go to that link and then press English the page changes and I get various options under Forms and Downloads. One of those is e-Form Filable Tax Return. If I click on that and then 2023 at the top of the new opened page and then click download pdf I get an English version of what I presume is PND 94 (the bit in front of 94 is in Thai script) with fillable boxes. As none of them have drop downs are you accessing a different link to the one I have mentioned or is it because you log in first?
  5. Presumably you can read Thai as I don't think it is available in English?
  6. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the branch only for commercial accounts and only passes through remittances to the set up Thai account? That's my understanding of how the London branch operates.
  7. Possibly, probably in your specific instance. Pattaya DLT are renowned for insisting on a CoR but there have been one or two individual posters who said that they were able to use their yellow book - all be it not recently.
  8. I have no idea but should a monk even have a facebook account (or any social media account) ............
  9. Try telling that to them all in Naklua and Pattaya on the 18th and 19th..........
  10. Saving face or more likely just covering their ass**..... Background from last year- https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/saving/article-12262905/All-reasons-bank-close-current-account.html Govt. proposed actions - but search isn't turning up anything more recent. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-clamps-down-on-unfair-bank-account-closures Sorry none of that helps the OP
  11. Disagree. However please explain how this works as a foreigner -
  12. From the linked article -
  13. Thanks. Just watched it. It is not going to win any prizes but my only complaint was that quite a lot of the dialogue, from the main character especially, was difficult to hear/comprehend.
  14. The original article suggested differently - but who knows......
  15. The girl I spoke to did when I went yesterday to renew my extension based on retirement. Had booked 2.30pm but arrived about 2.05. A couple of people in front of me at the Info desk so just waited until free and showed my booking. Gave me a number and went and sat down in front of the desk 8 area. Was seen and out before my allocated time. I guess I was lucky as no real queue.
  16. Agreed and this appears to be an almost worse example and I would like to understand the reasoning behind the Scottish judge's sentence. (Ex SAS member sentenced to 6 months for contempt as will not go to Ireland to be cross examined on an event over 30 years ago due to PTSD) https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-68459707
  17. Perhaps when you applied you asked for it to be refunded by prompt pay? I only say that as this report from last month and the last post suggest different results for other people -
  18. No but you can try this - https://aseannow.com/topic/1319807-personal-income-tax-guide-for-foreigners-thailand/
  19. Based on that number it is not just tourists - they were referring to capacity overall.
  20. I am surprised as I have them with both II and HL in the UK without any issues. I just bought some the other day. However saying that I had to pass some online test in various other types of investments some years ago but I have not had that pop up since. Also the questions were pretty simple and not an issue to check answers online and then answer the quiz.........Did they not offer you that option? Originally I think I did it for Bond buying but cannot remember.
  21. As I have already said there is currently no link between the 2 and none has been mooted but anything is possible in time.
  22. If you listen to that part closely he seemed very unsure of himself but at the end he seemed to be suggesting it was for people with work permits. I know nothing about work permits to say whether that is in fact the case or not. IMO it appeared to me that other than the LTR he did not really have a handle on anything to do with Immigration which is what I would expect. if anybody is at fault because of that I would say it is the Swiss ambassador..............
  23. Just in time for the supposed wind down to the low season..........
