  1. As legal as most places. As long as you don't screw it up and they are witnessed and signed legally. Witnesses can be Thai or foreign but must be of sound mind bla, bla, bla. For a will for Thai assets most recommend that it should be in dual language so unless using a template with both you will need to get it translated. Amphur Wills - there are mixed reports on AN in various threads about doing this.
  2. Have you read this - Because if you had you probably would not need to ask........ Simplistically - 2 - Tax currently only potentially on what is brought here 1 - Anything earned before 1/1/24 counts as savings and not taxable when brought in.
  3. To be fair the bank branch employees were probably expecting it to happen as it has with some of the other banks. For whatever reason SCB management seem to have made a conscious decision to not roll it out to foreigners. We can only speculate why that may be but it does seem to run counter to current regulations and "best" security practices here.
  4. Your sense of entitlement is astounding.......... Not sure where you are based but again this will be branch dependant as I know from personal experience.. Also, on the odd occasion where I have had to call the call centre, I have had no issues with getting an English speaker.
  5. Respectfully does not the last paragraph actually say that the specific example meets the criteria of Section 42(28) which is up to 10m baht for non spouses (or is that what you meant by certain circumstances)?
  6. Would make more sense in the Pattaya forum........... Most people reading the threads would know to go to any clinic and pay anything from 100baht....... Struggling with why you would have chosen to go to a private hospital for this
  7. I do not disagree with you and was equally as pissed as the OP when SCB closed down online access. However your point surely emphasises the point that locking your phone even with no bank apps) is better than not due to all the rest of the personal info it probably contains?
  8. Possibly - SCB app requires a separate PIN to unlock any banking functions. However I can certainly understand a bank wanting to make sure devices are secured if possible and I am guessing the software has some link into Play Protect to see that (I stress that is only a guess) With the old online access you used to have to get OTPs on your phone unless already set up with several transactions. That is exactly the kind of security weakness a stolen phone with no security and not blocking notifications on the lock screen would have potentially compromised.....................
  9. Sorry but are you saying that you did not use any Device Lock (pin/password/fingerprint etc) on your phone before?
  10. yes I posted about this a month ago https://aseannow.com/topic/1316999-does-using-a-vpn-impact-online-banking/#comment-18620765 Seems like every time they upgrade the app they tighten up the "perceived" security by not allowing you to have certain other things open. Developer Options is another one that needs to be switched off if normally used. I ended up having to get another phone purely for banking as my "daily driver" is rooted. Although they have been closing branches and removing some ATM's it appears we are more fortunate here in Pattaya that there are still enough options within easy distance - at the moment......
  11. He uses his phone for basic phone functions and feels he does not need all the other functionality. I understand where he is coming from but yes it won't work for everybody.
  12. Unfortunately I think that horse has well and truly bolted for most.............. The last paragraph highlights it Thanks for bringing that article to people's attention Microsoft trying to ram AI in the form of Copilot or whatever it is called into Windows with updates. If I cannot get rid of it I will definitely be switching over to Linux.

    Will Advice

Never heard this before and I also do not believe unless someone can post a link? One other reason that I find the statement hard to believe is that those who have done Amphur wills have normally gone with their partners to complete who will also tend to be the beneficiaries and I cannot see those being voided..........
  14. Could I use a hosepipe? Otherwise I have no pump and short of buying one cannot see any other way to achieve the result required.
  15. Your AN legend says Korat - but you obviously have a registered address in Malaysia as well although the translation mentions "Thai people"- just curious how does that work and do you get free treatment?
  16. I think you have misunderstood his response and my reply - his comments (in many different threads) are generally, IMO, very disrespectful to married expats who may live here (Thailand) and irrelevant to any feelings about the Chinese.
  17. Do you manage to get this or similar in every post you write as I cannot believe the no. of times you keep repeating it. What is your issue?
  18. Seriously? What planet have you been living on..........sheesh
  19. Please bear with me as I was not disputing that. I was querying how to set it up especially as @Daffy D now talks about fixing a pump to start things off..........I think I once many moons ago syphoned out petrol and that sucked......... What I was also hoping to do was to use up most/half of the water in the tank before trying to syphon out the sand in the bottom - or is that not possible? It is a DOS 1000L tank so 180cm high. OK sorry @sometimewoodworker just reread your earlier reply to someone else so clearer to me now thanks
  20. Thanks but note second part which is why I was asking - I wasn't sure how to "suck"out the sand especially as there is nowhere lower than the bottom level of the tank - well maybe 2 inches if that.....
  21. Forgive my ignorance but how does one do that?
  22. HK1 Rbox with 1GB lan. I tried a couple of IPTV services originally, and don't remember the issue, but as I relatively watch so little I decided not to shell out for any. I generally use Kodi now when either streaming or playing downloaded stuff.
  23. Thanks for that although I am a little surprised as it is a later processor and I have not personally seen the issue on my box.
  24. Please explain why?
  25. They seem to only issue them at main provincial offices. Eg. Pattaya DLT no but Chonburi city yes. https://www.dlt.go.th/en/international-driving-licence Try ringing them for the nearest office - 1584
