UK Tax Scam
To the OP and anybody else who may need it here is a useful link to help with tax codes and potentially reclaiming overpaid tax - https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/check-tax-code/ Here is a recent article about HMRC and issues being blamed on understaffing...... https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/smallbusiness/article-12198887/Inside-chaos-tax-office-Whats-gone-wrong-disastrously-understaffed-HMRC.html It mentions the fact that they have closed the PAYE helpline until September which would make it very difficult to get advice if you are having issues with a tax return.

Pitch and putt type golf course around Jomtien
Curious if he has been playing for a "long time"' why not? We had a guy bring his 12 year old some years ago and he played with our group on a couple of full size courses playing off the red tees. To be fair he struggled....... Otherwise @scubascuba3 suggestion above is about the only option. There was talk of another course pre covid somewhere off the 331 from memory which may have been par 3s but cannot really remember.

Car AC shop in pattaya.
Quick - depends how busy they are - I have needed to come back early morning a couple of times to get done. Efficient - yes Reasonable prices - YMMV but more recently inquiring about dash cam install I found them a little on the high side....... Replacement hydraulic struts for my boot lid seemed very expensive but I had nothing to compare to at the time and they were changed quickly and efficiently.

Amount Of Thai Currency I'm Allowed To Bring Into Thailand With Me?
Here is a fairly clear explanation from a Thai govt. website with an infographic - https://www.thailand.go.th/issue-focus-detail/009-010 supposedly updated in July 2023.

Skype? How do 'spammers' get my number.
Are you talking about connecting to your Skype name or do you have a paid for Skype number? If the former just go to settings, Privacy and block anything from people not in you contact list -

Those who have had their accounts closed by UK banks
It looks like expats are not the only ones to suffer - https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-12351619/Banks-shut-1-000-accounts-day.html?ico=mol_desktop_money-newtab&molReferrerUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fmoney%2Findex.html I am sure there is more to this specific case but it reads like a nightmare for those concerned - https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/saving/article-12340459/CRANE-CASE-vulnerable-laws-got-debanked-HSBC.html?ico=mol_desktop_money-newtab&molReferrerUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fmoney%2Findex.html

Using a Kasikorn Bank debit card online for airline ticket purchase.
Are you sure about that? There was a thread some time ago where someone had done this and when it came to doing their bank letter the withheld amount was taken off their balance....... If you have checked with the bank then hopefully no worries but others need to be aware - sorry cannot remember which bank it was at the time.

Using a Kasikorn Bank debit card online for airline ticket purchase.
OK this is not Kasikorn but on SCB when I have paid for a couple of items online with my debit card I used SCB DEBIT which is what it says and it went through each time........

Big C Extra, Meat department.....Why customers are almost never seen there...
There was a whole thread on where people buy and how they cook their steaks not that long ago. Plenty of ideas in there if you want to search for it.......... Why people have to turn threads into pissing contests is beyond me..........

April or Pacific Cross?
Doubt it. If you already have a chronic illness I would have thought it highly unlikely anyone would cover you for it if you changed cover. I had my eyes "done" just before I changed to an April International policy and the one exclusion I have is anything to do with cataracts

April or Pacific Cross?
I don't disagree with anything you say which is why, along with other reasons, I have no interest in dealing with AA World and or Regency. My research showed they are all part of Alliance Group International - https://www.welcometoalliance.com/alliance-group

April or Pacific Cross?
Not sure if this is relevant but this shows Maxima premiums (and others) for 10m plus baht cover with age bandings and was produced earlier this year. May be useful to others. I also have their sheets for 1m+ and 3m+ cover if anybody is interested. AA_Comparison_10+m_THB_plans_v2[1].pdf

April or Pacific Cross?
You may recall that I moved to April International but was going to check with my broker (AA Insurance) about the supposed hefty in band increase mentioned by a poster in another thread. I eventually emailed my contact and after a while I received a reply from someone from a company called AA World............ In answer to some of my follow up questions - This ties in with @Etaoin Shrdlu comments about Thailand based brokers selling International policies. A subsequent email from a "manager" at AA World basically pushed Regency Health (Regency for Expats?) with a premium about 50% more than I am currently paying with April.......... They also pretty much ignored my request for current banding prices for April........ Apparently Jenny has gone and no more comparison excel sheets.........

April or Pacific Cross?
Can you tell me where, and how current, this information is coming from as I am having issues with my current preferred broker in getting this sort of information? (For International providers)

SCB ending SCB Easy Net internet banking.
Are you sure? As far as I have always been aware - mBanking is the app for use on their phones. Equivalent of SCB Easy iBanking is online access - not an app.. Equivalent of SCB Easynet Perhaps you should start a new thread........

Last will and testament
I found this out a couple of years ago when I queried with Lloyds International as they are based in IOM. I had presumed all fell under UK (British) probate but apparently not so now I have 2 separate wills for my "British" and IOM assets..... For both of these I used online templates. My simplistic understanding is that even as a non-resident for tax, but like you still UK domiciled, HMRC will want to know everything and take a cut off everything unless you find a way to mitigate via Trusts or whatever. However to do that I guess you have to get hold of all the funds from offshore probate first to then declare everything when applying for UK probate? I am happy to be corrected on this point as could not find any obvious references when I was looking. I will be interested to hear what they say should they come back with anything useful

SCB ending SCB Easy Net internet banking.
Whilst I am equally pissed off by the change (and had to buy a new phone no less), anyone who waited until the appointed switch off date to actually try out the app was asking for trouble. If they had installed it early they would have noticed immediately that it was not populated with the data they expected to be carried across and could have done something about it. I would further suggest that for a business owner to have waited until after the closure to sort it out, unless out of the country, is approaching a very large fail...........
