"Flat Earther" finally admits the Earth isn't flat
renaissanc replied to connda's topic in Off the beaten track
Having 28 cats there is a simple way to know if the world is flat or not. -
I have never had a problem with Lazada sellers. I wouldn't buy a laptop or printer from China via Laada though because I don't trust the quality of Chinese goods or the integrity of China-based suppliers.

You can buy for around 800 Baht devices to measure your blood sugar levels. You don't need to buy the kind that takes blood from you. That's old style. If your blood sugar level is too high you can buy many foods on Lazada to reduce your blood sugar to prevent you from getting diabetes. Obviously, stay away from chocolate (unless it's 80-90% cocoa), biscuits, supermarket processed "food", and kanom for a while. Your body will go back to normal and all will be well.

It is so easy to live on that amount if you don't have to pay rent and public area fees. My wife and I spend 5,000-6,000 Baht a month and don't go without. It's easy to do. We spend another 4,000-5,000 Baht on our 28 cats per month. But we live in a small village not in a city. We have a garden and grow some of our food. From January we will add three 2m x 4m raised garden beds and grow all of our vegetables and spices/herbs organically so the expenses will drop further after the investment of wood, soil, and compost (we make most of our own compost anyway). We don't eat out in restaurants as there is no need to do so. We have more clothes than we can use in 30 more years, so we don't buy any.

"Hypothetically..... all those stories of poor Thai women being so poor so they have only 1 option in life is probably a bunch lies." I agree with you. Bar girls could find another job. They are just lazy.

In my 40 years in Thailand, I have rarely interacted with foreigners here. Occasionally, I meet a foreigner at Immigration or Tesco Lotus, but that's all. Going by the online Forums there are many I would not like to meet because of their rudeness and lack of empathy towards people in distress. I did not use to encounter such behaviour in the 1980s and 1990s even on the Bangkok Post Forum, which has turned into a cesspit of undesirables. I live in a quiet village with 28 loving cats and I'm happy here.

Pattaya bar girl scams 10 million baht from South Korean man
renaissanc replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The woman and her family will receive their karma. All that stolen money will bring them unhappiness, squabbling, debts, car accidents. Ill health, and goodness knows what else. Soon it will all have gone.- 131 replies

The Pattaya ladyboys will be happy. So many more gold necklaces and wallets to steal! -
"Be not troubled in poverty nor confident in riches, for poverty is followed by riches, and riches are followed by poverty." Baha'u'llah Hyperinflation can make one's wealth (bread) vanish overnight.

Thailand’s first F1 race planned for Bangkok’s Chatuchak by 2027
renaissanc replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It's a waste of billions of Baht. Also, Bangkok companies and shops will have to declare a holiday for 2 or 3 days in advance plus on the race day, so they will suffer financially. -
NACC Launches Probe into Thaksin’s Alleged Hospital Fake-out
renaissanc replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I expect that many people jockeyed to be on the NACC committee. They know they'll be paid off handsomely and rich for the rest of their lives in exchange for voting in favour of Thaksin being innocent. -
Trump Mulls Action Against Iran’s Nuclear Program
renaissanc replied to Social Media's topic in World News
It's not very nice, I know, but another solution is to kill all of the nuclear bomb scientists. As they are killed one by one, the rest will not want to be involved anymore. -
Barron Trump: The Rising Star Winning Hearts at NYU
renaissanc replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Barron has to be so careful while there. If he goes into a quiet area with a female student, she might accuse him of rape in (30-40) years when she's short of money. The woman won't say anything to anyone about the "rape" until then, of course, then suddenly: "He raped me (30/40) years ago. I have no evidence, but he did it. I've suffered emotionally ever since. Sob. Sob." She'll be hoping for a huge out-of-court settlement. This pathetic behaviour seems to be common nowadays. -

Is 1 million baht enough to retire in Thailand?
renaissanc replied to Celsius's topic in General Topics
No, it's not enough. Obviously, you couldn't live in Bangkok or Pattaya for 14 years with only one million Baht. You could only live on that amount if you had a place to live in a rural area and didn't have to pay rent. My wife and I live comfortably for about 5,000 Baht per month in a rural area in our own house with our own garden for growing some vegetables and fruits. That amount will rise to 1 million Baht because of inflation.
