  3. 2024 NBA play-offs: Top seeds Boston Celtics beat Miami Heat in opener The Boston Celtics started their NBA play-off campaign with a 114-94 win over the Miami Heat. Jayson Tatum's triple-double helped the top seeds to lead throughout against last season's losing finalists. The Heat entered the play-offs as the number eight seeds after beating the Chicago Bulls in a play-in eliminator. But without injured star player Jimmy Butler, the Heat found the Celtics too strong in the opener to the best-of-seven series. Tatum scored 23 points, had 10 rebounds and provided 10 assists - and was one of six players to score double figures for Boston, but warned his side they "can't relax" against the team which eliminated them from the play-offs last year. "They're not going to give up, they're not going to lay down," he said. There are 16 teams in the first round of the play-offs, playing best-of-seven series in a knockout format. The eight winners go through to the next round. James Harden scored 28 points for the Los Angeles Clippers as they beat the Dallas Mavericks 109-97 in the first game of their series. The home side led 56-30 at half-time and despite a fight back led by Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, with 33 and 31 points respectively, the Mavericks were left with too much to do. The Indiana Pacers visit the Milwaukee Bucks later, while the New Orleans Pelicans travel to face the Oklahoma City Thunder. READ MORE
  4. Women's Six Nations 2024: England face France in another Grand Slam decider By Alastair TelferBBC Sport Last updated on21 April 202421 April 2024.From the sectionRugby Union88 Women's Six Nations: France v England Venue: Stade Chaban-Delmas, Bordeaux Date: Saturday, 27 April Kick-off: 16:45 BST Coverage: Watch live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and online; live commentary on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra; text commentary, highlights and report on BBC Sport website and app. England's dominant 14-try victory over Ireland in front of the second-highest women's rugby crowd of 48,778 has set up a Grand Slam decider against France for the third year in a row. Victory in Bordeaux on Saturday would secure a third successive Grand Slam and sixth Six Nations title in a row for the Red Roses. The competitive nature of the tournament has lacked over recent years, with England romping to big victories, but the decider has always lived up to hype. Only five points separated the sides at Twickenham in front of a record women's crowd of 58,498 last year, 12 points were between the pair in Bayonne a year prior and four points in 2021. The Red Roses have had the edge over their French rivals ever since their last Six Nations defeat in 2018, however, they have had to work for it. Rugby Union Weekly: England power to record win over Ireland England aim to fill Twickenham with exciting style of play Women's Six Nations standings France defeated Wales 40-0 in Cardiff on Sunday to keep their Grand Slam hopes alive. 5. Fulham 1-3 Liverpool: 'Jurgen Klopp’s clever changes keep Liverpool in title fight' - Danny Murphy By Danny MurphyMOTD2 pundit & former Liverpool midfielder Last updated on21 April 202421 April 2024.From the sectionLiverpool It has been a tough couple of weeks for Liverpool but they are certainly not feeling sorry for themselves. Instead, their performance against Fulham on Sunday said to me that they are still fighting like mad for the Premier League title. Going into the game, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp had said he felt his side have been too easy to play against recently, so he will be very pleased with what he saw from them in their win at Craven Cottage. Right from the start, Liverpool's tempo was better than in either leg of their Europa League defeat by Atalanta, or their home loss to Crystal Palace last weekend. This time, whenever they lost the ball, they were closing Fulham down and hunting in packs, and it was their intensity which gave them a platform to go on and win the game. Refreshed midfield gives Reds a lift The engine room of your midfield is crucial for any successful team, but especially with the way Liverpool play - which as we know is with high-energy and on the front foot. It is a big ask for their players in those positions to continually do that week in, week out, especially playing as many as games as they have been in so many different competitions. So, I thought it was clever of Klopp to change his midfield three on Sunday, and that is nothing against the trio who played in their 1-0 win in Italy on Thursday - they have all played their part this season, to help put Liverpool where they are. 6. Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag admitted his side 'got away with it' to reach the FA Cup final. But he denied the manner of their penalty shootout victory against Championship side Coventry was an embarrassment. United were 3-0 up and cruising with 20 minutes left. Not for the first time in recent weeks, they conspired to throw away a winning position, ended up being taken to extra time, where they only avoided defeat when Victor Torp's last-gasp effort was ruled out for offside by video assistant referee Peter Bankes. United eventually triumphed on penalties. However, after wasting stoppage-time leads to draw with Brentford and lose to Chelsea in the Premier League recently, it was another day that offered more questions than answers about Ten Hag and his players. "We can play on very high levels, but we can go to very low levels in the same game," said Ten Hag. "That's not explainable. "I have to teach my players, clear. We have to do better on such occasions. On several occasions, we let each other down. Today we got away with it." Man Utd scrape into FA Cup final A cup tie that will be talked about forever Brazilian wideman Antony cupped his ears at the Coventry fans at the end, even though United were 3-0 up when he replaced Alejandro Garnacho. However, it was noticeable that the Coventry players remained on the pitch longer at the end to take the acclaim of their fans, with United heading to the dressing room rather sheepishly. Ten Hag rejected the idea that they day had been an embarrassment for his expensively assembled squad, saying that the near-capitulation should not be used to judge his own tenure as manager. 7. Coventry 3-3 Man Utd (2-4 pens): Mark Robins says FA Cup semi-final will be talked about forever For a split second, it looked as if Coventry were about to write arguably the greatest FA Cup story ever told. There were ecstatic scenes in the Coventry end at Wembley when Victor Torp poked home at the end of extra time to make it 4-3, after they had trailed 3-0 against Manchester United. But the celebrations were cut short by an offside decision before United scraped through on penalties after an astonishing comeback by the Championship club. At the end, there were tears from players in sky blue on the pitch and supporters in sky blue in the stands. "We've just said to them [the players] they've put themselves right up there in the history of the football club," said Coventry boss Mark Robins. "People will talk about this game for a long time." Man Utd scrape past Coventry to reach FA Cup final Re-live epic FA Cup semi-final 'Had he cut his toenail we wouldn't be talking penalties' Coventry City might be out of the FA Cup but they played their part in a semi-final classic that will be remembered for years. The Sky Blues looked down and out when Bruno Fernandes put Manchester United 3-0 ahead in the 59th minute. First-half goals by Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire had put the Red Devils in control at half-time before Fernandes looked to have put the tie out of reach. Yet the Sky Blues came roaring back. Ellis Simms' sixth goal in this season's FA Cup looked nothing more than a consolation in the 71st minute before Callum O'Hare struck with a deflected finish eight minutes later. "That got everybody's tails up," said Robins, an FA Cup winner with Manchester United in 1990, after the match. Then Haji Wright sparked scenes of utter jubilation among 36,000 Sky Blues fans, keeping his composure to score from the penalty spot five minutes into added time. Yet there was even more drama to follow when Coventry thought they had snatched right at the end of extra-time through Torp only for Wright to be judged offside. "We were 20 seconds from going to an FA Cup final then 30 seconds later we're in a penalty shootout," added Robins. READ MORE

Depends where you are from, it has never really been a thing in the UK as people get paid a wage to do a job, in the USA they used to be a whole sector that worked for just tips, so its part of their culture to do so. Here is Asia, some expats think its some kind of superiority and power trip to show they have money over the locals.
