  1. Why kids in business ? Should be banned. Kids should be put in a capsule then opened on arrival. thumbsup.gif

I fly business quite a bit to avoid screaming brats but on flights in the Middle East many misbehaved kids are in business.

Jackpot!!!.......it was a Middle Eastern kid,...now I'm a bit concerned about bringing that issue up, I think there is a cultural thing at play here, these kids appear to get no control imposed on them whasoever.

i agree with you there. i just stepped out to my local 7 to find 2 Arab kids about 4 years old opening all the tipco juices and poking their fingers in.

Parents are conversing at a howl 2 meters away.

I live very near soi 3, so i see them in that 7 plenty, and an odd culture they are.

As for business class, i have to agree i flew it more when the company was paying and before the kiid started travelling with me.

it is true that business class is no longer 'all that' though. If you have high expectations, its got to be first. thank heaven for air miles.

oh, and to be clear, i too am single, i am not nor have i ever been married. the kid is about as much as i can take, though i wouldn't be without her.

It ceratinly isnt anything special most of the time.

Ive had bad service too and considering its about 4 times the cost of economy it really isnt worth it anymore.

Emirates stopped issuing goody bags a few years ago then changed their flyer program so its now rubbish, staff forgot to put us in the business gate at Dubai once for boarding then asked us why we hadnt got on first, it wasnt just me it was ALL business passengers on that day.

Ive had my seat not able to fully recline a tv that wouldnt stay up and never got any satisfaction, changed aircraft without telling me from A 380 to 777 which was crap and I had particularly booked to be on the A380 and paid more for it.

Emirates..............never got a decent response from them.

  2. I dont think there's a time when ,my wife isnt working, its 24 hours a day, i do the housework washing ironing etc, i cant keep up with her, she earns a packet but she does have to work hard for it, usually dealing with Farang idiots half the time, id tell em to F.Off but she works her magic and hooks them in..................rents/owns condos before u ask

At times though its hard to do anything with her at all, start a conversation, phone rings, go out to eat, phone rings etc etc all is business, I shoudltn complain shes a great honest woman and hasnt changed one bit in the 6 years weve been married whereas I find myself getting lazier.

  3. Why would someone from Isaan move to Pattaya to work at a Family Mart?

Because there is no work in the village ?

Sure, that is why many people leave their village. But there are thousands of Family Mart's and 7-11s all over Thailand. Including in Isaan. Why specifically move to Pattaya to work in one? The main difference is that a 7-11 clerk in Pattaya is going to get lots of offers from foreign mongers while at a normal 7-11 you would not get those offers. You even have a bit of a leg up over gogo girls as a lot of foreign guys will be attracted to a girl with a real job and think it's safer to get involved. Just seems like a potential minefield to get involved in.

Any relationship is a potential minefield anywhere in the world.

  4. Why would someone from Isaan move to Pattaya to work at a Family Mart?

Actually far more common than you might think.

Father / Mother / Brother / Uncle goes to work in factory in Bangkok / Laem Chabang / Ayuthaya / Rayong.

Father / Mother / Brother / Uncle starts making a life for himself that doesn't involve hand-to-mouth agrarian existence, has steady income, can afford pickup / modest house payments etc.

Father / Mother / Brother / Uncle brings offspring / niece / nephew to live with in Bangkok / Laem Chabang / Ayuthaya / Rayong aged 13+

And so on and so forth . . .

You can also substitute factory for something to do with tourism, particularly if the Isaan person is found in the south. Sometimes they just sell somtam or have some other sort of business; a relative of a friend in Isan makes a tidy living simply by loading his pickup truck with various goods and delivering them to Burmese migrant workers at their factory dorms! He says they eat good scoff too, for example the soy milk comes from a pukkaThai-Chinese vendor from Yaowarat, none of that cheap <deleted> that Thais go for, and they won't rest until they've settled the bill unlike Thais . . . quite fascinating, but I digress.

As someone who lives and works as a teacher in Isan I see various scenes related to various permutations of this 'story' every day.

I suppose there might just be something about going far away from home that helps to give people a kick up the backside . . .

Quite true in fact only a small proportion choose to open their legs for easy/lazy money ( and thats what it is)

  5. Just see how it goes but dont get in too deep. Refuse to send any money to the family WHATEVER the reason and if you get the Farang black heart crap dump her.

My wife is from Issan learnt English at the local temple for free and wanted to " get on" so came to Bkk where she found knowing more English would get her a higher salary in the Co. she worked for.

Dont always assume the worst but check things out and keep ignoring the sick relatives no matter what she says.

Go to Family Mart at various times and see if she really is there.

  6. is this an airborne disease?

If so why are the kids not wearing masks. Also parents need to educate their kids to put their hands over their mouths when they cough. And teaching them to use a handkerchief instead of their friends clothes to wipe their noses.

What, when you can see many Thai adults actively coughing up flem and gobbing it out or doing the one hand over the nose bogey firing in many places, ergggggggggggggggggh

  7. I love thailand, I have been here for nearly 5 yrs, I have a thai wife half my age, I have honestly had no more bad experiences than I would have in other parts of the world, and am happier than I have ever been in my life, and prior to coming to Thailand my life was also wonderful

We make our own luck, look after your wife and her family, a long established principal in thailand and you are unlikely to be cheated upon, of course like all parts of the word there are some bad people, but look at where you meet them, so you get what you deserve

I would love Thai Visa to get rid of all members poting negative things, but then there would be so few postings

Remember there are many foreignors here who are only here as they have run out of places to go, and they only have thai visa as their love!!

I hear often of people here living on social security from thir home countries and if they declared honestly where they live they would get nothing

IF YOU DO NOT LIKE IT GO HOME

long live the King and wonderful Thailand

    Al007

    Still in stage 1 then?

Quite easy to tell the newbies, init?

What makes him a newbie ???? that he hasn't posted on everything ? he's been a member of TV longer than the both of you.

"I have been here nearly 5 years" he said

Ive lost track of the amount of times ive been banned though.

Do you subscribe to the Thai way of being in a job for xyz years makes you more qualified?

  8. A sickening trade, how can people buy ivory?sad.pngbah.gifsad.png

For they do not realize I suppose, but how can people kill elephants angry.png

elephants are "culled" legally by the hundreds every year in South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Kenya. stupid international regulations however mandates that their ivory is either destroyed or stored without hitting the (mainly) asian markets. if that "legal" ivory was sold, prices would drop and provide less incentive for poachers to kill elephants indiscriminately.

Well said, I just read that South African populations are now becoming a problem although it suggested Elephants were congregating there as an area of safety,

  9. Don't want to bring out the Thai bashing brigade but l live on the banks of a lake and the locals come to fish there, great, but the bank is now covered in plastic food bags, drink cartons, you name it and they come back to fish again in the same spot wallowing in the crap. It is so easy to take the rubbish away, why !!!unsure.gif

two words BONE IDLE same when I was building a house, parents and kids all just leave it on the ground, great education for the kids.

  10. Everyone can do or believe like they want as long as the don't try to disturb my life.

But actually all religions try to do. Muslims more, Christs medium and Buddhists less.

But still the Buddhists force people to not buy Alcohol on some days, can't recall that Buddha ever told to force people to their luck.

But always some people want be holier than God...

Is that the same Buddha who said " give us all your money for yet another spangly new unnecessary temple", same same Mosque/Church
