What an absolutely silly post. The Thai Tourist Police (ie: THAI Police Officers) are a big part of the Thai Police Force. You really think they are Volunteers...heaven help us.

As I mentioned a few posts above, this is not legal and cannot be enforced for homeowners.

The sad thing about non payers is that the majority are the rich, well connected residents, who just feel they are above all that type of stuff. The 'I'll say normal residents' nearly always pay when fees are due.

If the houses pays the water and electric bill on time to the relevant authorities, then there is absolutely nothing the village can do about it. Sad but true.

If the Village is registered as a 'Juristic Entity' then they can be taken to Court, and in some cases the house can not be sold until arrears are paid. If the Village provide water to each house from a common village tank (as in the earlier years of moobaans), then water can be cut off to individual houses, but as another poster said, if the water and electric is provided through meters from the government, then it is illegal to touch those meters, even if the Village is Juristic. Yes rubbish collection could be stopped for those houses, but in the end it affects other houses also with smells, rats etc, so not a great solution. Also legally a resident can not be stopped from entering the village if they own a home. Many villages try this tactic with non payers but it leads to police visits and sometimes other nasty circumstances. It is conundrum for many villages.

Of course (as I'm sure many others do)---but its not really racism, but bad form curiosity from pompous royals. Still they should know better, and definitely don't utter things out loud that will come back to haunt you. It'll all pass over in time, but the stigma will last a lot longer. Either way I won't lose any sleep over this 'storm in a teacup'.

Sure can...First places are 'Samitivej Hospitals' in Srinakarin and Sukhumvit 49. About 13,000 baht for 2 shots (spaced apart). Other place is 'Medconsult' a few minutes away from Samitivej on Soi 49. A bit cheaper I think for the 2 shots. Wherever you go check that they have stock of the vaccine as it must be kept in a controlled environment. Hope this helps you.

There are now 148 pages in this particular thread alone, and people still are asking the same questions with no real answers, because nobody really knows yet what the Government intends to finally do, so it's really a waste of time discussing scenarios that may or may not evenuate. IMHO.
