  1. Pitas doing police work now?
  2. And people complain about Thai immigration
  3. Keep your stinking meth. This drug is ruining Australia. The losers organising this should stop and think. Get rich vs destroy the fabric of Australian society. Is it worth it?
  4. They send them ashore in their own large tenders. They have a little dock right down the southern end of the beach. Shuttles seem to run constantly last time i saw it
  5. There's much nicer areas in Phuket to see than the meat market of Patong. What have they got to look forward to there. Gazillions of tourists. Clogged up traffic and getting harassed and ripped off constantly by tuk tuks, massage girls, touts, jetskis. Basically everyone.
  6. I wonder if the conditions correlate with the fact he has no insurance. The budget hospital option for people with no money to pay
  7. The wards are locked at bkk phuket hospital. The lady at the desk can release the door or the staff have a little thing they can tap to a hidden receiver in the wall next to the door to release it. I had to get regular treatment in the wards and noticed them doing it. I imagine vachira is similar
  8. And if you got 3 meters then it's gonna rise more and more and more lol
  9. Crying Russian demon babies! Too much!!
  10. Fighting muay Thai. Want to do it again but a bit old
  11. I always thought they were just installed to be a barrier between the owner. If you look at any news where a bar was shutdown or raided by police or something it's always the manager that seems to cop it
  12. Beggars everywhere in Bangkok. What's different about these ones... Ohhh Jordanian. Can't have that.
  13. What would you propose to fix all the fisherman and sailors dumping garbage at sea and washing up from miles away? I think from another report the municipality provided the trucks and took it all away on its return to Phuket
  14. Normally police don't need much incentive to call something a suicide. Just a month ago a man committed "suicide" by repeatedly stabbing himself in the neck in a hotel room in Bang Tao. Here we have bag over the head and a suicide note and they suspect murder. Amazing Thailand.
  15. Some closure to this issue. I ended up getting the account unlocked 7 or 8 days after the face to face KYC. There was lots of unprofessional chat from them saying it is unlocked already or it will be unlocked tomorrow or let us check with manager. Different people giving different answers. Not sure if it was the threat of legal action or contact with the Securities and Exchange Commision that swayed them in the end. Satang has now changed their name to Orbix after Kasikorn bought them it seems. I will note that Satang support clearly said "Unfortunately, registration of foreign customers are not currently available". There is also a announcement somewhere deep in the website that states services unavailable for foriegners. However, when you go to the new Orbix page it is in English and welcoming so my guess is they will probably let you register and get some funds in the account then turn into the exchange from hell again once you want to get your money out. I would stay well clear of any Thai exchange.
  16. Hells Angels Mongols Outlaws Rebels Mongrel Mob Bandidos And.... "Waterless Trip" Striking fear into the hearts of their enemies.
  17. I hated it. My impression was.. Similar to Thailand in some ways except that I don't understand the language at all or how to get around from A to B without looking at a map every 5 minutes. The people seemed more peaceful and less unstable. Not like they're gonna lose it any second or have some underlying hatred or thoughts in their head. Less interested in violence. Sick as fighting chickens or boxing or weapons everywhere. Less drugs maybe? Not sure but the laws are harsh. Awkward traffic. It's busy and flow seemed not as good and open as Thailand. They toot more than any country I've been too. Honestly it seemed like they toot at nothing or toot at you because you're a westerner walking. Chicks not as pretty. Not as much choice as a consumer for quality goods like food. Particularly pork and premium products. Importing stuff is harder than Thailand with more tax and more corruption. In my experience the type of foreign expat there is more annoying. Either drunk bogan Aussies or vegan yogi types that like to sip artisan almond lattes and talk about wellness and their last enema. The cafe scene is a bit more advanced. Seemed to be more litter. Different scams. I never saw the drop money while changing it scam in Thailand. Beaches not as nice (that I saw). Incredibly windy at times. So rough seas. Good surfing if you're into it. I think much of the reason I didn't like it was simply because I felt out of my comfort zone and didn't know anything. Where in Thailand I know exactly what is happening around me and how to function as a member of society. If I had visited Bali first instead of Thailand all those years ago things could quite easily be opposite and I might have fallen in love with Bali instead of Thailand. As many people do.
  18. You're getting phased out or forced to improve your behaviour by a simple app. Karma has arrived. It's lovely to watch.
  19. This article reads like when a Thai tries to tell you something but in a long round about way because they can't just say what they mean.
  20. It's ingrained in the culture in Phuket
  21. Register with who exactly? The amphoe office? Is it necessary to register it?
  22. Ah no comment from police in this story? Surprise surprise
