This can go 2 ways - Nothing changes for the average customer in Phuket and we just get another grossly overpriced greedy hospital. Or It creates a bit of competition for bkk hospital and makes them reconsider the way they take advantage of people. Regardless the situation of bkk having the monopoly in Phuket can't get much worse. So i guess it's a positive. They won't be able to buy them out like they did with the old Phuket international hospital a few years ago.

Totally different moral standards. Where I come from intimidating and being violent and physical with a woman is mostly unheard of. It just shows that you're a immature coward with no balls. More so there is a pride and feeling of moral obligation to protect woman. I couldn't even say this is behaviour that you would expect from a primate. Even they seem to show love and caring to those around them.

Never done one of these stupid things during my ten years living here and never had a problem. Been up down and all around. In and out every little nook and cranny of this country. There was only 1 time that I know of where a condo agent pursued this thing and I believe did it. If it wasn't for this forum i wouldn't even know it existed. I imagine 90% of foreign people in Thailand have no idea also. How would anyone know about it if Thai authorities don't tell people? Or did I miss some fine print somewhere during the entry process.

Realistically how long does it take to "investigate" this. This particular roadblock has been dragging on for what feels like weeks. Somebody needs to pick up a pen and start making decisions. Couple of days max, to look at evidence and dismiss this nonsense.

Old news. I checked with kasikorn and scb when this was a new story a couple of months ago. Both said they are implementing it for Thais. However still working out the system for foriegners. Apparently we need to be separated for some reason? Anyway the difference was: SCB were implementing a 50k baht limit as mentioned here. Meanwhile kasikorn were not and it's business as usual. While they both work out the complicated issue of how to scan an aliens face. This was about 6 weeks ago that i called to check. Possibly changed.

I've known a handful of Thai women over the years drawn to working in shady massage scenarios overseas that they seem totally oblivious too. Even trying to explain stories like this to them doesn't seem to deter them. If you're going to go and work in some place renowned for disrespecting women as a pretty little Thai women for some agent you barely know anything about then you're asking for trouble.

It's not a new thing. It's really weird. Like they think they are the only country in the world that eats chilli. So many times I have ordered Thai food spicy only to get prik chi faa instead of the small chillies. Or get no chilli at all. Or get an entirely different dish. Or another one is to put little or no chilli and then when you ask they give you a shaker of chilli powder which changes the dish entirely. It's really weird. Another one is the pork blood (nam dtok) in noodles. Ordering noodles from a thai guy with a cart once in Pattaya me and wife both trying to get 2 bowls of nam dtok noodles. He refused to do it for me saying farang mai chob.

I would say after the story of the Satthahip (or?) Chonburi election being rigged by the electoral commission just a few weeks ago that they have no integrity to be investigating anyone.
