Women and children should be allowed to have a safe, private space to get changed and use amenities. If there is a strange man in a dress with a big willy flopping about alone in a change room with a young girl then that is no longer the sanctuary that it should be. How many parents are comfortable letting their children be in a situation like this?

Concerned citizens aka "Far right". Why are they allowing all these immigrants in and spending so much money on them? What's the point. Why is it necessary. It seems to be negatively affecting the community. Simple questions.

This has been a huge daily issue for the entire area surrounding the roundabout for years. Trafffic gets backed up for like a km each way on the main road. I think the problem is exacerbated by the fact that the faded line markings are mixed up and don't match the lanes on the surrounding roads. Most Thais seem to have no idea how to use the thing. The police close it with a gate during the times where it is most needed to function correctly. Regardless they need a better solution than a roundabout. I heard somewhere not that long ago that they were reluctant to do this for so long because they don't want to move the statue of the sisters above it for spiritual reasons.

Not saying it is you. I have no idea. Probably around 70% of the foreigners i've seen that claim they can speak Thai or I see speaking Thai slaughter it with great confidence.

I cannot fathom spending hundreds of dollars on travel, accomodation and visa fees to go and apply for a visa which is already surrounded by uncertainty and not be carrying the most important document they require.

According to the podcast I just posted in the main DTV thread the 90 day report is not required. However this was just mentioned by the interviewer in the closing comments and it was about the only point he made in his closing comments that I didn't hear discussed with the Thai official during the podcast. So I see no evidence to support his claim.

Maybe I missed it but I didn't see this anywhere in the forum. It's a long listen and you can't increase speed so I made some notes with timestamps while listening. Not happy with my notes? I don't care. I added quote marks for quotes from the official. 9.45 Q - How many 60 day entries can you get per year? A - Immigration have no set limit. "As many times as possible per calendar year". Q - If doing this you can re-enter the next day? A - "Not on the same day of course" as the entry stamp would still be the same day and (for example) you would be staying in Thailand 61 days. Technically don't require onward ticket but it is recommended to have it in hand as the officer can ask for it. At least 20,000 baht is a requirement. Can be extended for 30 days at immigration. Ultimately all at discretion of the immigration officer. 15.51 DTV Q - Can pensioners living in Thailand 175 days a year (retirees?) use this visa? Is sufficient income / money in bank enough or do you need to prove what you are going to do in Thailand to get the visa? Can it be an overseas bank? A- Stresses you should come with correct visa and purpose according to visa. However if they meet requirements of DTV they can apply. The money can be in Thai or Foriegn bank. Can also be in other forms: "payslips, gauranteed letter from employer abroad, etc" Property deed? = Nope. Health insurance required? = At the moment "we do not have that requirement". However they want it and may aim for it in the future. 20.25 DTV Q - For muay thai (etc) do you need to be doing it for the duration of of the 5 years? A - You can initially book it for "2 weeks / 1 month" whatever. "It doesn't specify how long". To EXTEND THIS AT IMMIGRATION you need to provide this certificate / "confirmation letter" again for another muay thai course or other activity (cooking etc). However re-entering the country instead of extending these technically are not required. "Only the first time". 22.33 DTV Q - What is the definition of freelancer? A - "Most importantly your employer is not in Thailand and your income must come from outside of Thailand". It can be a permanent remote job. 24.05 Q - Reduction of health insurrance on OA and OX visa categories? A - Short answer = Yes, that was just a covid thing. 26.00 Interviewer comments - "Yea i guess it would be helpful if the paperwork (for visa applications) was stored in a computer at immigration". "But I guess we just have to wait" (lol) 26.30 DTV Q - People are complaining this undermines their expesive elite visas. A - It's not really the same visa. Elite has benefits. 27.10 TAX DTV Q - Will thailand try to collect tax on foriegn income on the 5 year visas? A - Dunno bro, not my department. But I will say that the regular tax rules will apply unless the visa has specific tax privelidges. "DTV does not come with these tax privelidges and falls under the requirements to pay tax if you stay more than 180 days "and import a foriegn income". "On the question of will we tax foriegn income" go and talk to the concerned authorties. Not my department bro. 29.10 Q - Ed visa re-entry permit exemption? A - ED+ = not needed. Also mentions extensions and working post study. Possbile auto upgrades from ED to ED+ for eligible people. 38.35 DTV Q - Can you do ad hoc short work on the DTV? A - No but you can change the visa to a business type in Thailand and get a work permit. This is "another privilidge of the DTV visa" 41.15 The blacklist system 44.00 DTV No plans to scrap the 90 day report. However DTV holders don't need to report. Maybe I missed it but I didn't hear this discussed during the podcast.

I imagine the recent visa overhaul is having a big effect on the business of visa agents. So they probably don't want to know much about it. I went to phuket immigration yesterday. Seemed less than half as busy as it usually is. I wonder how the queue at jomtien is at the moment.

Do you have a clear non-ambigous source for this info? I have been following this pretty closely and started the application online but only see: Employment contract OR employment certificate OR professional portfolio showcasing digital nomad / freelancer status.

It's irrelevant. They did everything through the mail with me. It was easy and much cheaper than I was quoted elsewhere

I'm waiting for clearer info on this too. I have a homepage that shows I can provide web and software development services and has a portfolio of projects I done during study etc. It's never made any money. I emailed them in Laos asking for clarification and recieved none.
