  1. And then there are the guys who pick up girls in bars on Koh Changie and then later they wonder why they want to get paid for their service... Those are obviously quality tourists, or what do you think about them, Bob?
  2. I used to go a lot to Ban Moh and it is definitely a very interesting experience. The problem over there is that sometime I run around for an hour trying to find something and maybe it was right in the counter in the shop but they didn't know it was there or maybe they didn't understand me. Then I started to order parts online more and more and now I go only seldom to that area. Online is easy to search, easy to compare and easy to order. And in Bangkok the delivery is normally within 2 days or so. At least for me that is mostly fast enough.
  3. Or in other words: They have to come with lots of chargers. Otherwise there will be a lot of unhappy owners.
  4. I have a 3D printer, a Prusa i3 MK3S+, and I used Autodesk Fusion 360 to design some parts. If someone uses the 3D printer and software already for some time, then it's not difficult anymore. But IMHO it takes some time to learn the basics, learn about tolerances, etc.
  5. Instead of drilling and filing 3 little holes in 2mm plastic? Really? How long will it take an average user to learn how to use a 3D printer and create exactly the part which he needs with design software? Sure, it's possible. But IMHO totally inefficient.
  6. I would do it with drills and rasps. I.e. for 2) drill several 5mm holes straight next to each other and then use a file to make it a rectangular hole. Then I looked in YouTube to find a video and I was surprised what I found. It seems there are also special tools available to do this task. But then again, would it make sense to buy these tools for 3 little holes? Probably not.
  7. Would you take your kid on a trip like that? Would you put kids in the world in a war zone?
  8. The (not anymore) richest guy in the world buys a company for many billion USD. And then he fires people, doesn't pay the rent, does the opposite of what he promised, and and and. Why? If he can't afford it, then he shouldn't have bought it. And if he can afford it, then he should pay and then maybe negotiate but still honor existing contracts. It's amazing that so many people still admire this person.
  9. When people make a trip on a little inflatable boat through rough seas in ice-cold water, what do they think? Do they think? Anybody who does such a trip must be aware that they can die and the change to die is not small. So why do they do it? It seems many of those migrants start their boat trip in France. Did anybody in France try to kill them? Is life so dangerous in France that they have to escape? And if they have to escape because it is so dangerous, why don't they escape to any of the countries with a land "border" nearby? If fishermen are on a sinking ship and they escape on a little inflatable boat then they do this in an emergency, they have no other chance. And obviously people should try to rescue them. But if others deliberately bring themselves into great danger, why should the public care about those crazy idiots?
  10. Not exactly exiting news, but I promised to follow up on this: I asked my contractor, and he wasn't aware of any product like this. He checked and according to him at least in my case with porcelain tiles there is no need for this. It seems we also have a grout which is anti-mold and such things. Sorry for no better information.
  11. This is not exactly cheap but very good. Home Designer | Home Design Software for DIY (homedesignersoftware.com) I spent that money because I think for a project which cost a lot of money it's a good idea to have professional planning software.
  12. Mick Moloney - RIP Mick Moloney - Wikipedia
  13. This guy must be extraordinary stupid. How many people do you trust enough to give them your phone (and look at possibly all your pictures and other data). And would you give your phone to a date which you met online (so that she can check out all your dating apps)? Even if there would be no risk at all that the phone might get stolen that just sounds like a very stupid idea.
  14. Many tourists walk through these areas (Soi Cowboy in Bangkok is another one) to look only. There are lots of people walking and some drinking outside and fewer inside. And that was already like that long before Covid.
  15. This guy has lots of good videos about different types of security cameras and systems. Some of them can be bought for reasonable prices from China (aliexpress.com)
  16. Maybe that is why he bought Twitter. He can see all the comments from his followers and think: I am a great guy. ????
  17. I heard many sirens about 7am and I looked also in that direction, and I didn't see any smoke (anymore). Whatever it was, it wasn't very big.
  18. If it is a circular hole and the material is not too thick, then an ordinary drill should do the job. Maybe people will be able to do that. If it's a square, and especially a small square, then things are more difficult. And then it's of course important how accurate that must be. Maybe show us a picture and tell us a little more what you want to do.
  19. Thanks. I will talk with my contractor probably tomorrow. I will let you know what he has to say.
  20. Do you know any brand names from other countries or maybe have a picture of those products? I will ask my current contractor about it. But I need a picture to show him on my phone.
