My gf hires from time to time an ordinary Bangkok Taxi-Meter. Until now he picked her up at our home in Sukhumvit. In maybe a week her niece arrives at Suvarnabhumi Airport and she wants that this taxi driver, who knows her village address already, will pick her up at the airport. Is that a problem? I ask because I read about problems with taxi drivers and other hired drivers like i.e. Grab. This is why I wonder if maybe the other taxi drivers, who maybe wait in the airport que for an hour, will try to make any trouble. What is your experience? And what is the best place to meet a privately hired taxi at Suvarnabhumi Airport?

No - at least it is extreme unlikely.

The newest generation have a sophisticated navigation system. They don't bump into anything and they are even able to detect poo so that they don't bump into that one or try to clean it. But they are still far away from perfect and IMHO way too expensive. I guess in maybe 3 or 5 years they should be better and cost half or less. I won't spend 1000 USD now only to replace it with a better model in a year or two.

To all the guys who seems to be a little confused about the thing with the Thai gf: Normally when I use the ATM I switch the language to English and I don't remember seeing any Angry Birds menu when I used the ATM. This is why I mentioned that this happened when my Thai gf used it, because she obviously uses Thai language. The Thai language didn't surprise me or her. I received a reply to my LINE message when they opened on Monday. Clear information of which tires they had and didn't have and what they recommend. I selected the recommended Bridgestone S21 and I paid 1000B in advance to make sure they don't sell it to anybody else. That was my idea, they didn't ask for down payment. I was there today and they replaced my two tires within 30 minutes. It looked like professional work to me. They also showed me the package of my new tires so that I can see they were produced in 2022. They even apologized that they didn't remove the glue from the old weights on the rims because according to them the KTM color does not play well with that removal fluid - fair enough. Summary: All perfect. I will go there again. Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks. I don't think her card has any angry bird picture or anything similar on the card. As far as I know it's just a standard boring K-Bank ATM card. And most of the time she deducts money at the K-Bank ATM and she was not used to that menu. She was confused what that is/was about.

I am still surprised that she thought she would get away with that policy. Making rich people richer in a crisis. Is there anything better suitable to <deleted> off 90% of the nation?
