You don't have to go far. I visit regularly the Khlong Toei Market. I very seldom see another foreigner. That market is about 2km away from Sukhumvit. And there are many other areas around every corner. I.e. walk into Sukhumvit Soi 1, after about 100m on the left is an area with food vendors. I don't remember when I last saw a foreigner sitting there. Loads and load of apartment buildings with 5 to 10sqm rooms - farangs don't live in those places... Just open your eyes. Ordinary Thai life is everywhere near you.

Somehow it sounds like you think farangs are honest and Thais are the bad guys. Really? I know about enough farangs who did their very best to get the money from other farangs with investments, advice, I know this guy, etc.

Obviously it's sad when some people are only happy if they are drunk. But on the other hand, there are also some "I live very healthy" guys who don't drink and don't smoke and maybe they are vegan. And it seems many are miserable because they don't allow themselves to i.e. have a drink from time to time.

Did he guarantee the delivery date? I guess he can postpone it a little, but not until next year or whatever. Maybe ask a lawyer to call him. And maybe, if you are lucky, he understands that he better pay you your money back and then you will leave him alone and he can scam other people. Put him in a position where he is willing to pay to get rid of you. Obviously I don't know if this works, but it might work.

I think it all depends on what we want and how we want to live our lives. Obviously, it's good to get some inspiration from others and learn about possible options. But at the end of the day, we should all individually decide how we want to live our life. I.e. I am sure my father thought I wasted my life. But I did and do what I want to do. And I think he should have lived his life and have some fun. Different perspectives.

I guess few people will care about the following: It seems it is not possible to put many (or all?) SIM card routers in bridge mode. Normal users don't need that. I wanted to try something in bridge mode and discovered it doesn't exist on my SIM card router or other routers in the shop.

DVR = Digital Video Recorder, this is where your videos are recorded and where you can replay i.e. the last hour or whatever time. They have obviously all limitations. A relative old DVR won't be able to handle the newest cameras with the highest resolution, etc. I am not sure if this is described in the following video, I know he has one video about the purpose of video cameras. What do you want? And overview about everything? That will give you an overview but no details. Or do you want to be able to recognize a face i.e. near your door?

The Shelly switches/relays are relative cheap. I guess they also work stand alone. I use them with Home Assistant. That software is free, and all runs local - no big brother is watching.
