Cyber police arrest influencer for selling explicit videos online
OneMoreFarang replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
It's amazing what people pay money for. I wouldn't look at pictures of that creature even if I would get paid for doing that. Amazing new world. -
Let's say I am open to the concept that there are lots of things which we don't know. But there are also lots of things which we know and which we can measure. If some idiots use super-size braided power cables for a meter between the socket in the wall and the amp power input, then that is just stupid.

I agree that many so-called audiophiles are a little or a lot crazy. I have all digital from the source including digital input in the active speakers. So at least I don't have to worry about cables. And yes, some audiophiles are so crazy that they even want gold plated digital connectors. But vibrations are real. And speaker stands like from my original picture resonate in a easily hearable frequency - except if they are filled with sand. I follow expert advice if the experts can also measure what they pretend to hear. And I don't care about all those who hear things which are not measurable. My favorite expert Amir runs this forum with lots of interesting information. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php

Thanks, that is what I thought. But I know from watching "welding videos" that it is easy to put screw up the angles, i.e. 89 degrees instead of 90 degrees. I guess if I am seeing the speaker stands and they are not straight, that would somehow irritate me... I will look if I can find a shop in Bangkok which can produce such stands in good quality. To be sure the height is perfect I have to wait until my sofa will be delivered next month. Then I can measure which height I need.

My original idea was to buy a velvet sofa. I expected only low-quality leather for affordable sofas or good quality for very high prices. The sofa which I bought now has high quality leather and was affordable. I like that. The price for the kind of sofa I want was roughly 30k for velvet and 40k for top grain leather. And it seems everybody agrees this kind of leather is a lot more durable than any alternative.

I remember when I bought my Epson printer that they had a long description why their ink was different. I don't remember the details. Personally, I wouldn't use it if you are not sure. Otherwise, it might end up in total damage.

Again, thank you for the recommendation. I visited them today and ordered a sofa for me. Some info for anybody who is interested: The company manufactures Sofas in Samut Prakan, near Bangkok. They have 2 stories of showrooms at the same location. The also have showrooms in other locations in Bangkok, see their website. If you want to get the best price, make an appointment and visit their factory. The showroom at their factory contains at least 50 sofas in all shapes and forms and similar furniture. The leather is high quality, imported from Germany and Italy. They also export sofas to Europe. Maybe there are other sofa manufactures here, but I am pretty sure it will be difficult to find here better quality for a similar price. If others import from other countries and sell in high class show rooms, they must be a lot more expensive than the price from the factory. I paid 50% down payment, delivery in 30 days.

What is the best way to watch old movies at home in Thailand?
OneMoreFarang replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in Entertainment
Just slightly related to this, since a couple of months I pay for YouTube premium, no ads anymore. Wonderful. There are still ads in videos which are made by the people who upload the videos, but it's easy to skip them. -
Does your Thai wife keep you on a short leash?
OneMoreFarang replied to NorthernRyland's topic in Marriage and Divorce
I think if we have to compromise then we have to compromise - if there is no other option. But if we can get what we want, why should we compromise? -

Good comment. Two things come to my mind. Many of us lived for a long time "back home". Most people somehow behaved similar. Maybe a short holiday here and there. But we never learned that many people, all over the world, are different. Our perception how "everybody" thinks suddenly doesn't work anymore. Because in a country far away everybody thinks different. And about staying with one woman and accepting whatever happens: I also started to make that mistake. And then I was out and about and rediscovered that there are lots of attractive girls and women in this country who are interested in many of us. We don't have to accept the condition from one woman because we will never find a better one (like maybe back home). Here we have options. And if our beloved wife knows that we have other options, then that will help her to understand that she better be nice, or else. -

Thanks for all your comments and also private messages. I have hundreds of movies which I downloaded, and I know how to play them, and I know how do download more movies, for free. Like described above, I would like to have something like Netflix, with an easy user interface, but with more movies. Before I checked I somehow assumed that Netflix has everything, but they don't. They don't even have many well-known movies. I thought that maybe there are other providers like TRUE, Amazon, or something like Spotify or whatever with many more movies. But it seems such an all in one easy to use provider is not available in Thailand - at least that is my impression. -

Yes, and no. As far as I see you want to understand one woman better, your wife. It's like asking how intelligent Thai people are in average. In average they are average, but there are some very smart and very stupid, and any shade in between. I am sure in some ways my gf is like many other Thais, like she likes to eat spicy Thai food. But in some ways, she behaves different from many other Thais. That's the way she is. And I don't ask her why all those others run around with a screen in front of their face, and she sometimes forgets her phone at home and doesn't even miss it. We are all individuals and for some things it doesn't really matter what many others want or do. -

Is there something like "Thai women"? Some are like this, some are like that. And they behave differently in different situations with different people. Do you think your wife is like all other Thai women? My one is different. 😉 -

I looked up a couple of them. I didn't see any "click and watch". Netflix does that. But unfortunately, many movies which I want to watch are not in their program.
