  1. I would never say something like "No legal issues possible" Some women claim 20 years later that 20 years ago they didn't really agree...
  2. How many 18 year old girls told you they didn't like it? Where does your insider knowledge come from?
  3. So if she decide to not live with her parents and she decides to live with a guy. And she can walk out any time she wants, how is that abduction?
  4. I remember when I was maybe 30, back "home", I wasn't interested in 30 year old women. I was attracted to "girls", maybe 20 to 25, or something like that. And I had a little bit of a bad conscience that I was not interested in women of my own age. I read many psychology books at that time and one day I saw a book with a title like "the history of desire". I read it. It described in detail why almost all men want young and pretty girls and that is just nature. I think it also described why the not so young and not so pretty women didn't like that fact. After reading this I didn't have a bad conscience anymore.
  5. That reminds me of: There is a simple answer for every complex question. And most of the time it's wrong.
  6. I heard that some girls got stopped by Thai police officers outside of short time hotels. Then the officers asked them to open their bag and when they found a condom or two that was then evidence enough for the officers to conclude that they were prostitutes and that they better pay a bribe to the officers. Is that story true? I don't know. Maybe cops just make up whatever "law" they want to make some extra money.
  7. Who cares about the parents? From how many girlfriends which you ever had in your life did you want to meet her parents? I met some parents, because the girl wanted that I meet them, it was never my initiative. And about the why: Who really knows? When I got together with my girlfriend, I asked her if she wants to stay with me. She said yes. She didn't tell me why. And even if she would have told me that I am handsome and yai-dee and whatever, that doesn't mean that was the reason. She doesn't even have to know herself why.
  8. It's always interesting how many guys are sure about statements like that. How many relationships did you have with girls? Did they all only want your money? Or do you think that because someone told you? Or did you read an article which was written by an old feminist? And do only young girls want money? Or do almost all females independent of their age and his age like money?
  9. How often does that happen? I.e. if she visits him in his home, and then walks out the next morning and visits him again, or maybe she stays with him for weeks of months, can she later claim she didn't give consent? I guess a NYC judge might interpret it that way, but we are in Thailand in the real world. If he would have raped her then she would not have returned. Many of us know Thai/farang couples who split up with lots of shouting and screaming and maybe physical fights. How often did you hear that a girl accused her ex that she didn't consent when they previously had sex? Anybody? Ever? If that would be something that really happens, then I am pretty sure some of us would have heard those stories.
  10. As far as I know all those Cowboy and Nana bars are not classified as prostitution establishment. They are bars with dancers. Are prostitution establishments not illegal in Thailand?
  11. Bubbles are visible. I have something like this in mind. If there is water mixed with air, then I guess you should see bubbles.
  12. How about a transparent pipe or looking glass or whatever that is called?
  13. Even if you repeat that 100 times a day, that doesn't make it true.
  14. And then they spend a considerable amount of time looking for a space to park. And/or they spend a lot of time in traffic and in the parking garage. You could offer me any car for free, and I wouldn't take it if I then had to use the car instead of a motorcycle. Riding on a bike makes life so much easier.
  15. It changes daily routines if you have a bike or not. I live in Bangkok, and I have a small and a medium size bike. I use them all the time. In the morning, I ride with my gf often to the fresh market. And likely we eat some food at the market or maybe 1 kilometer away from the market. With the bike it doesn't really matter if the market or food is 1min away from home or 10min away on the bike. It's just a short trip and it cost almost nothing. We don't buy food for days in advance. We buy it mostly in the morning of the day when we want to eat it. It's always fresh, we only buy what we want to eat on that day, etc. Without bike I/we would buy food maybe for a week in advance. We wouldn't ride to that good coffee shop 2km away because it would be too expensive with (motorcycle) taxi and inconvenient with public transport.
  16. I would love to see legally correct information about who has to pay how much in this situation. Maybe with options like both have an insurance, may one or both don't have an insurance, etc. Personally, I think if someone damages the property of someone else, then he should pay. But if someone puts something on the street which cost millions to fix for what be a minor damage on another car, I don't think above rule should apply anymore. So, what is the law in Thailand?
  17. What people who drive cars and don't ride motorcycles don't realize is the fact that on a bike you see a lot more than when you sit in a car. Obviously 70km/h might still be too fast. But if the rider concentrates on riding, then he will be a lot more aware of his surrounding compared to any driver in a car on the same road with the same speed.
  18. Maybe they know what they want. But they look like old women.
  19. What a great idea. How many researchers did they hire to travel to all the beaches around the word? What's the business model?
  20. But then, you can be sure they are hungry at exactly 12:00 noon.
  21. Is that your personal experience or is that your theoretical explanation how the situation must be, because somehow your logic tells you so. Maybe talk to people who are in such relationships, and maybe you will discover that it's not as simple as you think it must be.
  22. When I started the relationship with my Thai gf she was under 18. She didn't ask her parents, and I didn't ask her parents. Her mother died early, and she walked away from her father when she was 14 or about that age. As far as I know her father didn't know about her living with me until she was maybe 20 years old. He didn't complain. And about girls or women changing their mind: I don't know if that is really an issue in Thailand. I never heard about a case that a guy had a relationship and sex and later she complained that x weeks or months or years ago she didn't really consent. On the other hand, in "the west" there are cases like with Julian Assange, where a woman had at least 3 times sex with him. According to her the 1st and 3rd time was consensual but the 2nd time it wasn't. Crazy! My personal advice: Don't run into a trap. Think twice what you do. But don't overthink all the things which possibly could go wrong. There are enough old women out there who accuse men of rape decades ago. The only way to avoid that is to have no sex at all or even better never meet a female alone.
