  1. Never been asked to prove I'm still alive in 14 years of living in Thailand.
  2. I renewed my 5 year a couple of months ago and the perception test has been dropped. Only colour and brake tests.
  3. My ex wife owns her own house so has no rent to pay, yet she complains that she can't live on an Aussie aged pension, so runs credit cards to the limit, but then money management was never her forte.
  4. What is a box that can play all modern formats?
  5. I lived in Katherine NT as a kid and aboriginals weren't allowed to buy alcohol (they also couldn't vote) and there were no drunken aboriginals killing each other or neglecting their children as there is now. Alcohol has destroyed aboriginal communities.
  6. Semen found inside her and she wasn't raped? Are the police saying it was concensual?
  7. I didn't see if it plays HEVC, but I'm now thinking that it might be easier to just avoid that format. I read that you can add HEVC capabilities to VLC player under TOOLS but I don't see that option on my Android TV.
  8. What kind of Android box?
  9. The Panasonic is a TH-43LX800T Android TV. I took a USB stick with a couple of HEVC files to the TV seller today and the stick wouldn't play on either a Panasonic of Sony TV. I was thinking of buying an external media player that will play everything. Of course I can just avoid downloading HEVC files which is probably the most sensible solution.
  10. Just tried it on my new Panasonic Viera and VLC say no files detected when I have two HEVC files loaded.
  11. I have a Sony Bravia and a Panasonic Viera Smart TV's that I use mostly to play downloaded movies with a USB drive. However both TV's won't recognise some formats like HEVC, so what media player is there that will play everything?
  12. I no longer use it, but Fascino pharmacy may stock it.
  13. I persevered with episode one, but there's nothing new to see here, just another virus turning nearly everyone into zombies. This theme has been done to death so won't persevere.
  14. I'm colour blind so always needed help on identifying the colours when they were just dots in a circle. Now it's just like a small traffic light where the three colours flash randomly, red, amber and green, so can pass that one easily.
  15. That test has been dropped in Pattaya, they only ask you to identify traffic light colours and a brake test, that's it.
  16. I'm not a driving instructor, and this is how the majority of Thais get their licence. Take it up with the Ministry of Transport, not me. I might also add that she hasn't actually driven a car since getting her licence, so other road users are not at risk, from her. Can't speak for the many thousands who got the same degree of training.
  17. Any figures to back up that it's peanuts?
  18. My Thai partner got her licence a couple of months back through a driving school. She did a total of about 4 or 5 hours actually behind the wheel and she is still far too nervous to drive by herself or drive in busy traffic.
  19. Part of it's charm.
  20. Those "peanuts" add up to a sh*tload of cash.
  21. I was trying to remember because it's been a few years. Pretty sure I had to use my tablet (before I had a smart phone) to complete some steps which included taking a pic of my passport and a selfie. So you are correct in that you either need a tablet or a smart phone to initially activate the Wallet. The steps to activate may have changed since I did it though.
  22. Not sure about any secret, but when I purchase an item the price is automatically deducted from my Wallet. However, I can still change the option to COD if I want.
  23. That's not correct. I returned a cheap phone recently and had around 1000 baht refunded to my Wallet. I have been using that money to purchase other small things using my PC without any problems.
  24. It's been a while since I activated the Wallet but I believe I had to take a photo of my passport so I could register. I know it was a pain in the butt because I had problems getting it to work.
  25. Stonehouse, 3 episodes about a Brit MP who faked his own death. Absolutely first class entertainment and acting IMO.
