  1. @giddyup: I think that this has nothing to do with forcing you to buy a VPN or a proxy... much more likely, this is an advertising site that opened in a new tab, when you tried to download something from the tab on the left side of this safety torrenting tab. You should be able to just close this tab and then you should be back on your download site. Why do I believe this? I just opened the IP seen in the tab (https://surferprotector.com/?64dfea2caf397) on my computer in a new browser window and receive the same advertising site as you displayed, the site is completely independent from your download site, just another clever way to sell products
  2. Italian red wine, Scottish single barrel single malt, Angus beef and pizza, plenty of cash to pay for it
  3. CCS. https://ccsmedicallab.com/ on Thepprast road with various packages, including urine and stool testing. Check website for packages and prices. Results within 24h per mail.
  4. Careful! Cigna in Thailand, which offered the 35Mio Baht option (Silver plan), is not longer available! My policy was cancelled as per End of the term. Cigna sold the Thai business to Chubb, and Chubb cancelled all the policies. Cigna offers new policies out of the UK. The option I am currently discussing with them is an option "Close Care", coverage 500K USD, Area of coverage Thailand only (and emergency coverage outside for max 45 days). Payment options only in USD or EUR I don't know individual prices, but for my family (me, wife, daughter), it is around 17K per month
  5. There are SOME parking bays, but the rest of the beach side street is still no parking
  6. Check AIS, my wife made a package there and could take over the numbers from DTAC
  7. Unnecessary. You can change from marriage to retirement in-country at the immigration office
  8. First, Sin Sod is never "due", it is a completely voluntary gift to the parents of a partner. I is up to you - probably after consultation with your partner - whether or not you give Sin Sod or not. My wife told me to NOT give Sin Sod to her parents. That said... you might p* off his parents, if you do not give what they ask for, but if you live far enough away from then, it should not be an issue. With regards to the amount, you should let your partner negotiate the amount down, if he also feels that it is too much. But if your partner agrees with his parents, knowing your and their financial situation, maybe the partnership was not such a good idea... things like Sin Sod should must be discussed and decided beforehand. Just to add: the sexes of the partners are completely irrelevant.
  9. We bought ours in Khrung Thai on Khao Talo, but this branch closed some time ago. One you have it, best to download the MFlow app to check your account and create QR codes to load money. Only reason I know, why gate does not open is, if you have less than 200 Baht on the card, happened to me twice. Seems to be the lower limit expected to ensure that you can pay, if you drive all the way to BKK (105 Baht)
  10. Brits in Thailand Russians in Thailand Chinese in Thailand Americans in Thailand Indians in Thailand
  11. Better avoid Bangkok in the next days and weeks...
  12. Sad new: I just got a letter form Chubb Insurance, the company that bought the Thailand health part of Cigna Global, that they cancel my policy by the end of the current insurance term (Feb 2024), as they discontinue this offer in Thailand. They do not even offer an alternative, just saying that I should have enough time to look for an alternative. Sad news, as this is the first company that was not only responsive, but paid claims without asking for more money, unlike all the Thai insurance companies. What are the alternatives outside Thailand?
  13. They do NOT discontinue the app, they discontinue the website
  14. You should read more careful... my YES was towards a post from stoner who asked "so before covid people were stupid". My answer was not to the thread question. For that, you can check my original answer, which is the second answer in the thread.
  15. Beg to differ. I have been and still am wearing surgical masks in all hospitals I go, with all the people coughing around you, I would call wearing a mask a sane and informed decision.
  16. In April, Jomtien immigration stopped everybody from entering without mask, when I needed a re-entry permit. In BPH, I wear a mask, because I don't want to inhale any of the bugs these other sick people exhale. Not wearing a mask in a hospital is stupid by definition.
  17. Nobody cares anymore whether or not you personally wear a mask EXCEPT where clearly mandatory, i.e. government offices like immigration In Bankok however, the air quality is a more important reason for people wearing masks than Covid. Right now, me gestimate is 60% Thai and 20% foreigners still wearing masks at all time
  18. found another site, https://www.dlt-elearning.com/, registration with passport, now start to watch video
  19. ok, thanks. So you make an appointment and have to watch the video there in the DLT office?
  20. No 13-digit ID, my drivers licences are with my passport number
  21. This is specific for the Bang Lamung office, that is why I post here and not in the motor forum. I was trying to make an appointment on https://gecc.dlt.go.th/, registration went fine, but when I try to select the Bang Lamung office, I get this picture, greyed out meaning "temporarily suspended". Question: does Bang Lamung not offer this at all? Do I have to sit through the video in their "conference room"? What are the waiting times, when you arrive in the office early morning? Other surprises to expect? TIA
