  1. No, ChatGPT creates better and more believable stories
  2. Nes Years celebrate starts immediately after Christmas celebration and ends sometime before mid of January... welcome to Thailand
  3. There us another priority line in arrival 1: go in on the right (Thai) side, turn sharp left on top of the short walk, and the priority / business entry is straight ahead. I used it yesterday morning, through after 3 minutes.
  4. They are not approved for age over 60
  5. Get yourself in a hospital for proper diagnosis before asking about a surgery you don't know you need. Drinking buddies are not good medical advisors...
  6. No, she doesn't need it. The change will be recorded in the database, and the owner of the old tabien baan can go into his amphoe and have the old entry removed. ID is all my wife and daughter needed.
  7. Expensive, but still cheaper than a long time stay in the ICU with a broken skull...
  8. Same here, unfortunately no vaccines for us old geezers...
  9. @LS24 There are 2 re-entry desks that I am aware of: First one is described by @Georgealbert correctly: "After check in, you go through security checks and then down the stairs to immigration. At the bottom of the stairs the re entry desk is on the right hand side, in the far corner. This is before going through passport control/stamping." Second one is when you go through the "new" fast track area next to check-in counter A: You have to go all the way through security and passport control and down to the duty free area, turn left and walk to the mystical figure, then turn left and walk up to the arrival immigration are. There again turn left before entering the immigration are, and the re-entry desk is located all the way in the corner. The first desk I know from walking past many times (last time in October), but never used it. The second one I used on 10 December this year during an emergency travel where I had no time for a "regular" immigration visit. It is a strange feeling to first get stamped out and only later to get the re-entry permit, but it works.
  10. There are certainly resorts / moo baans, where you live in a gated community mostly with foreigners (i.e. on Koh Chang Blue Haven, Siam Royal View), BUT... - most of them have Thai wifes, which would obviously bother you and - there are no shopping centers / restaurants in there, maybe a bar or a seven eleven, but that is it. So you would have to mingle with those pesky Thais, even though you seem to believe in freedom from harassement by the locals
  11. Don't worry, the half-half (Thai-Chinese) will not allow it
  12. Taking out the tiles, creating the tunnel, putting in the pipes and reseal/retile everything is probably cheaper than finding a "specialist" that is able to drive a tunnel under your walkway in such confined spaces
  13. I am myself using Pattaya wax studio https://www.pattayawaxstudio.com/ next to Big C Central Marina. Very professional, good enough English, I use line for appointments.
  14. We used Advance Pattaya Driving School on Sukhumvit next to Bangkok Pattaya hospital. As Henryford wrote: they "only" help get the drivers license, after that, it's up to you to take her out driving for practice.
  15. Google German Dental in the Pattaya forum, and you'll find plenty of positive mentions from this year
  16. Stupid fear mongering of somebody who probably did not even finish Swiss Army formation school... your so glorified Russian army had to call in the Wagner group AND empty all prisons AND recruit tens of thousands of new soldiers (those that did not yet flee to Phuket), and still could not make any meaningful progress in the Ukraine war... and you expect them to take on the whole of Nato? And "easily return money" once in Thailand? Have you ever tried to even pay an invoice from your Thai bank account to Switzerland? That will teach you about "easy"...
  17. OP didn't write about a Thai ATM card, you're making things up.
  18. You were nice explaining different options, but not giving her money was also the right decision
  19. Only, if the guy is registered as the father on the birth certificate of the child (as mentioned above). Then she could take the birth certificate and the death certificate to the court, have the court establish inheritance rights for the child, and with that paper, she can start her search
  20. So what? It is a reality in Thailand that will not change.
  21. Police caught with pants down.. Deutsche Welle (DW) channel will be banned from all network providers
  22. IQ in a single person is given through the gene pool given at birth and can not really be increased. What CAN be increased is knowledge through education (which some people mistake for IQ), but unfortunately, good education is a spare good in Thailand. That said... the overall IQ level in Thailand could be increased by getting rid (deportation or other measures) of all the foreign drunks sitting in bars from opening time to closing... some of which have also found their way onto AseanNow pub and frequently open posts...
  23. What I have seen is that 2.4G cams support longer distances than 5G cams. But with a wifi extender - which I use in my backyard- , you can get good quality even for cams further away from your router
