Pit Bull Attacks & Kills 67-Year-Old Woman Cycling in Pathum Thani
phetphet replied to Georgealbert's topic in Bangkok News
I wonder if dog's owner be held responsible and punished in any way for the poor lady's death. I doubt it. She would probably get worse here for writing a bad restaurant review. -

So it took someone's death before the owner decided to do anything with what was obviously a dangerous dog.- 167 replies

Are you only connecting over wireless? What about a LAN cable from the Huawei to the TP-Link if possible?

You could possibly try buying on amazon.jp If it is like their other sites, they will pay all the duties in with the price. I just had a quick look here at the following page, and they do indeed have air con units. Whether they are what you want is another matter. https://www.amazon.co.jp/s?k=air+conditioner&__mk_ja_JP=カタカナ&crid=3NNREMMXQRWD6&sprefix=air+conditioner%2Caps%2C349&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

Anyone know how to direct the smart TV to use a VPN?
phetphet replied to scubascuba3's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
I was talking about an app from your VPN provider, specifically for your tv. e.g. Have a look here for more info in setting up a VPN on TV: https://www.expressvpn.com/vpn-download/vpn-smart-tv -

Have you downloaded the specific VPN app for the TV onto the TV? Or as others have said, you can install on your router. -
Thai Military Sees Major Leadership Change in Annual Reshuffle
phetphet replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What is the point of these annual military reshuffles? is it just to make sure everyone gets a tick on their CV? Or to prevent anyone becoming too influential in any one position? -

Thailand seizes 5 billion baht in assets targeting fraud, corruption

THB400,000 though? Hardly big pickings for someone at his level. -
I had a motorbike accident one morning around 9am on the way to the gym. I don't drink alcohol, but at the hospital, my blood was tested for alcohol for the insurance company. I think an alcohol blood test is pretty much standard now after hospitalisation for any road accident in any private hospital. The insurance companies don't want the big payouts if they can avoid it.

H&M, if you have one near you has 100% cotton t-shirts. They are in several big malls in Bangkok. Or you could try Amazon for online delivery. Uniqlo is mainly synthetic clothing which I find too hot and sticky in Thailand's climate. Although they may have some 100% cotton.

Air conditioning is effecting my sleep
phetphet replied to DonniePeverley's topic in Health and Medicine
You might try leaving a saucer of water in the room. As air is cooled, it dries. Putting a saucer of water in the room can help reduce the dryness as it evaporates. I normally put the air con on for half hour before I go to bed, then turn it off and just leave a fan on to circulate the air. In the hot season, I might wake up and turn it on again for a while if the room gets hot. -
Thai police shut down 21 villas on Koh Samui, foreigners evicted
phetphet replied to snoop1130's topic in Koh Samui News
I drove, well tried driving up to a villa around that Jungle Club area two or three years ago. Couldn't make it. The road was so steep the car lost traction and starting sliding backwards and turning. Scared the life out of me. I managed to slowly reverse down and get out of trouble. I always parked and walked after that. Only accessible with 4 wheel drive. Although the water trucks did it quite regularly, it must have been a sphincter puckering moment for the drivers. -
iPhone 16 Launch Draws Large Crowds in Thailand
phetphet replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Those who managed to buy yesterday would have all been busy shooting their "unboxing" and "look at me" videos yesterday for TikTok and Youtube. Today they will be riding the BTS, or sitting in Starbucks, holding their new purchase up, hoping everyone will notice their latest iPhone. Imagine the boost to their street cred. Joking aside, Apple have come up with such a great marketing strategy, that even other phone and computer makers, including Samsung and Microsoft have copied them. -
Watching videos on a LG TV – from my home computer
phetphet replied to tomgreen's topic in IT and Computers
Not sure if any of these will work. Only suggestions. Can you use Airplay from Mac to LG? There is an Apple TV app for TV's, and it might be worth looking at if you can stream via that. Chromecast? Or you could have a look at Beamer App. It used to be pay once, but unfortunately I think it has turned to the subscription model now: https://softorino.com/beamer -

I have a small; 12" pedestal fan by Xiaomi gthat I bought from Lazada. Very quiet and not too strong. Has a "natural breeze" function. Something like this one: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/xiaomi-mi-smart-standing-fan-2-pro-2800mah-18-1-i4767425531.html

Thai police shut down 21 villas on Koh Samui, foreigners evicted
phetphet replied to snoop1130's topic in Koh Samui News
There is yet another new road up there. Starts just before the original one turns to go up to the Black Rabbit, and runs parallel to it. Looks like it is heading to those villas being built before Replay. Before it became Black Rabbit, it was no longer just a shack. It was a nice looking little coffee shop with fantastic views. It was up for sale for quite a while, and then became the Black Rabbit. There is also a nice looking house up there. Well not so much the house, but the owner, Thai I presume has cleared all the land in front to make a large, sloped garden with large rocks peppered all over. He must have fantastic views across to Koh Phangan.
