So it happened 40 years ago. And the guy was one of 25 people on Trump's "Spiritual Guidance Committee" And it all comes to light a few months before the election, with photos connecting him to Trump. Coincidence? I think not. https://archive.thinkprogress.org/meet-donald-trumps-new-evangelical-advisory-board-6a5bfc5460d7/

Lumping them all together would be to dismiss the fact that they were killing each other long before the European devils landed. And (here's the sappy part), it would do disservice to the unique history and heritage of each tribe. I'll bet the Shakopee Mdewakanton would fight you tooth and nail if you tried to lump them in. The Shakopee Mdewakanton are the wealthiest Native American tribe, going by the individual's personal wealth. There are 480 members, and each member gets around $84,000 per month, as disclosed by a tribe member going through a divorce. https://moneyinc.com/richest-native-american-tribes/

Strange. I searched the DOJ article about the DPA and "Trump" came up with zero. Perhaps that's because it was the same DOJ that did their dead level best to keep Trump from ever being in the White House again. https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/boeing-charged-737-max-fraud-conspiracy-and-agrees-pay-over-25-billion Can you provide a link to Trump's signature anywhere on the DPA? If not, that's in violation of the forum rules. On a serious note, can you provide any evidence that Boeing got any treatment that chemical companies, pharmaceutical companies and other nefarious companies haven't been enjoying for decades, through both Dem and Repub administrations?

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2024/may/08/facebook-posts/boeing-whistleblowers-died-of-infection-gunshot-wo/ One was a gunshot wound, the other a "fast moving infection". Both were healthy. Care to calculate the actuarials on that? That 2 healthy Boeing whistleblowers would die under mysterious circumstances within days of testifying? https://fortune.com/2024/05/02/boeing-whistleblower-dead-joshua-dean-45-sudden-severe-infection/ Another Boeing whistleblower is dead—this time a healthy 45-year-old who battled a sudden, severe infection That one's behind a paywall, but the key words are "another" and "healthy".

When my brother worked in Angola, his oil company had quarterly drills to get to the marina and onto the boat so they could get over the horizon, because none of the factions had a navy. From there, they were well supplied to float around out of sight until they could be rescued by the USN. That would give me nightmares, even without the pills. -
I was under the impression that the current investigations are to establish whether Boeing violated their side of the DPA, which would open them up to prosecution. I don't know whether that extends to prosecuting individuals that were protected by the DPA. If it does, that could explain why 2 perfectly healthy whistleblowers died under mysterious circumstances, right in the middle of testifying.

Been having really bizarre dreams lately..

As a veteran of 6 overnight sleep studies, 2 surgeries to clear obstructions, several attempts with CPAP over decades as the technology promised newer and better results, and a myriad of pharmaceutical trials, I'd suggest not going down the same rabbit hole I did. It's expensive, and I still have sleep problems. When I was working 10-12 hours a day in Thailand, I just slept the rest of the time and on weekends. Kinda sucked, but the lifestyle change is the only one that made a difference. (Other than taking the oath back in 1988 and going to the meetings for 35+ years, but I'm sure that's not gonna happen for most of the guys posting here. Getting rid of the booze removed a lot of variables, though that's not why I took the oath). -

I'm wondering where that 5.5 rule of thumb comes from? My handy dandy HP emulator says 0.5^5.5 leaves 2.209% of the substance in your body. In another hour, it'll be 1.1%, which seems about the same, from a practical standpoint. I'm guessing there's a source for that 5.5 number, but can you clue me in? -
Serious Relationships With Thai Women, What To Expect?
impulse replied to Alpha84's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
The challenge here is figuring out whether it's a cultural thing or just plain incompatibility. Back home, you can figure that out in a few minutes. Maybe a few dates. Here, it can take awhile to get past language barriers and local customs. And by then, a lot of guys are pushing a baby stroller. Edit: Or as a minimum, they have a roommate they can't quite shed without tears and potential stabbing. -
Serious Relationships With Thai Women, What To Expect?

Could be. I do like some of Jude Law's characters. But my memory leans towards the line coming from Ed Norton and nowhere near as romantic as most Jude Law chick flicks. Admittedly, that may be my selective memory and conflating my movie lines. My point, poorly made as it was, is that beauty doesn't hold a relationship together past a certain number of boinks. Then, you'd better have some other connection and compatibility, or it's not going to end well. That's not to say you can't have that compatibility across cultures. But it is difficult. Ask me how I know that... -
Former CDC Director Predicts Imminent Bird Flu Pandemic

The Democrats' playbook. It's a rinse and repeat from 2020 and Covid. I forgot to mention that it will provide the excuse for Biden to campaign from his basement. Again. -
The problem with a $ 24 billion fine is that 99% of the pain will be felt by innocent people who have Boeing stock in their retirement account and Boeing employees who had nothing to do with the crime. Like the lunchroom ladies who will end up getting laid off, to meet next year's budget. They need to prosecute the people who falsified records, the people who covered it up and the people who retaliated against whistleblowers. And they need to claw back any bonuses related to the accounting shenanigans that gave the managers the incentive to misbehave.

Probably just in time to implement no-excuses, no ID, and no signature verification mail-in balloting for the election. And scare Repubs (who generally vote on the day) with 6' personal space and huge lines at the polls. Probably exacerbated by polling locations where the machines mysteriously crater for hours. But the MSM will claim it was even more fair and secure than the 2020 debacle. And the DOJ will prosecute anyone who says otherwise. -
Saudi has Biden by the short and curlies through November. (Or at least through the DNC Convention, then it may be someone else's pubes being pulled) Even draining the SPR may not be enough to keep gas prices low enough through the summer driving season. He can't afford any supply disruptions and spiking prices if he wants to win.

Deadly dish: Mushroom curry poisoning in Yasothon kills one

That's scary. I always counted on local knowledge to keep toxic mushrooms off the menu. My grandfather from the old country always hunted mushrooms when I was a kid. Mom wouldn't let us eat them. -

60% is a huge number. Timing correlates to legalizing weed. I wonder what it'll do when they re-criminalize weed. Could be bad news for TAT. -
So they had zero data on how it affects early child development. All they claim is that they don't think it affects miscarriages. And they still recommend the mRNA for pregnant women, in spite of a 1 in 1800 chance of dying if anyone in the 0-39 age group got Covid. Did they learn nothing from Thalidomide? Here's my link... My post of June 8 with the data. https://aseannow.com/topic/1329225-us-fda-panel-supports-switch-to-jn1-for-fall-covid-vaccines/#

Biden to Grant Legal Status to Undocumented Spouses of US Citizens

A little correction here. The Bad Orange Man referred to the murderer of Laken Riley as an animal. -
Do we then get to ask reimbursement from them for buying Eastern Colorado from France (Louisiana Purchase), or taking stealing the rest from Spain (or Mexico), at great cost of US lives and treasure? It's not as if they'd be living their idyllic (false) memory of peace and harmony and kumbaya had there never been a US gub'ment. They'd be living in colonies of France, Spain or Jolly England. Ask the Vietnamese how they liked that, or any of the Sub-Saharan colonies. Or look at the economic conditions they'd be living under had they stayed with Mexico. Millions of people from around the world are risking their lives on perilous journeys and paying cartels thousands of USD to sneak into to America and live the life the indigenous people have as a constitutional birthright. They can go anywhere in the USA they want, work anywhere legally, get a state funded education...and on. And on. The sky's the limit.

Biden to Grant Legal Status to Undocumented Spouses of US Citizens
impulse replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I think that could be one of the unintended consequences of a poorly thought out election year gambit. If they've been in the USA for 10 years, contributed (and not been a burden), and kept their noses clean, why even require that they be married?
