  1. It is a headache for sure. I live in Surin now, so two trips to Bangkok would cost me about 5,000 Baht in diesel. I used Key visa company in Pattaya, which, as you say cost 5,000 Baht. I was lucky regarding the photos. Went to a Thai photo shop in Prasart. He took my picture in the photo room, then changed the background, etc. on the computer. He certainly knows what he is doing.
  2. What they fail to mention is that they put the tax on petrol up to cover the shortfall on diesel.
  3. Same as Transam, my application took 16 weeks last year. Applied middle of June, received passport middle October. The biggest headache is not being able to track it. Even though VFS give you a reference number it does not work for British passports.
  4. Yes, but it should be noted when applying for the first licence. Then you can renew it for a 5 year licence as they will be running almost consecutively.
  5. Another good tip for you, if it is possible, is to get the licence soon after your birthday. They count the years before expiry based on full years. For example, if your birthday is in September and you get your licence in December, it will not expire until September 2026.
  6. These darn bikes are just so hard to train. Just when you think it is safe to ride one, it runs away....
  7. Spot on. Just yesterday driving into Prasart, a journey of about 30 km, there were at least five motorbike riders that just pulled out of side roads in the villages straight in front of me. Even my Wife comments on it now, asking why they are so stupid !!
  8. That is sad too. Going to Hua Hin for a few days Sunday, hope it is better there..
  9. Same up here near Surin some days recently. A white haze high up, and the constant smell of smoke in the air.
  10. They are not putting school names on the shirts, merely their own names and Thai sayings. The lawyer is probably just trying to garner attention as he contradicts himself in typical flip flop style.
  11. Yes, seen him there, and he also does a match at double kiss in Hua Hin. Last time was about two years ago, about 2,000 Baht to play a frame.
  12. So, can someone enlighten me on how they will deal with the thousands upon thousands of people who do not have a licence?
  13. Sort of on topic, re blackouts, You must live near me, because exactly the same happens here at least twice a week. Once a month it is a drunk Somchai taking a power pole out at about 8 at night.
  14. My Wife always says they are only in it to get easy money, nobody ever knows what policies they support, then when they are voted in we never, ever, see them again.
  15. Someone had to do it.....................
  16. I would put that in the category of a miracle if you actually managed to penetrate their brains.
  17. It is all a plot by the Government to lower the education standards. They need to do this after the growth in the internet has seen so many young Thais learning so much about the world outside the Kingdom....
  18. I admit to not being a big fan of jet ski's. This one, if silent, will surely be more dangerous to swimmers than one you can hear coming. Having said that, if used in a controlled area then I guess the benefits of no exhaust, and noise would be beneficial to other people around.
  19. Sorry to disappoint him, but if he came around the area I reside in he will not get the welcome he is wanting. Deranged, deluded, despotic autocrat.
  20. That definitely would not work in Thailand, There is no way Somchai is going to double s production to four days....
  21. I would check up on what exactly the Immigration at Blueport does. I know that they are a limited service as a satellite office. Sorry I cannot be more specific as to exactly what they do, but I would not want to pass on erroneous information.
