Thailand grapples with allowing more Chinese landowners
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The Thai real estate market, especially in BKK, is about to take a dive. There are too many condos being built, and the prices are way too high. The only way they can sell them is to sell them to the Chinese that has money and little to invest in back home. I would love to see the vacancy rate for some of these newer condo's I can tell you that Thais are moving out of Bangkok to the burbs where instead of a 1 bdrm for 10 million they can get a house for 5 million brand new -

Free Birth Control Pills Provided via Pao Tang App

My best friend's wife walked in on her daughter the same thing. Her birthday was in a week, and we were all told about it and told that presents should be more suitable for the situation. The daughter always made out like a bandit on a birthday and was not impressed when the diapers condoms baby clothes and maternity wear started to show up in her presents. Not sure if it affected her much, but I can tell you it did the BF who along with his parents was invited to the party and her younger sister. The bf was made by his parents to sit beside her and his parents thought it was hilarious. -
The winner in this seems to be the stores that o one went to at the pier and the songtaew drivers who can charge an arm and a leg. OH well. I am surprised that the tours are not running as they were there was a lot of money in that.

Counterfeit Goods Worth 173 Million Baht Destroyed
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Probably but remember you are in SE Asia. Things have to be done big to show the world that you mean business. I lived in Pakistan in the 90's and when the Microsoft reps came to town, they had a bog show of raiding different stores and shops that were selling software. The joke was that they raided the first floor and as soon as they left the shop opened on the second floor Just go to some of the tourist markets, and you will see the absurdity of all this again it is just a show for the big companies. Pantip used to be the largest software and counterfeit store in SE Asia. They just relocated some of the shops to different areas. -
Counterfeit Goods Worth 173 Million Baht Destroyed
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
But simply recycling would not be a show. Also after they have been destroyed then, the Thais will go through and recycle what can be used. The purpose of this show is not to take the goods out os circulation it is to show the world and the U.S. that they are active in this. Go to NANA or a lot of other areas even MBK and you can find counterfeit goods. quite easily. The bigger joke used to be people sold Nik shirts and shoes. or you could buy role watches -
OP Running into the sort of same isssue. Thai's are not big on one word. WHY. Why are you happy? I enjoy you. Why do you enjoy me. You make me happy. Did this experiment in Thai and English with a painting. Showed Mat p5 students 3 paintings asked them if the liked them. They all answered yes Then both myself and a Thai teacher asked them WHY In Thai and English because they are beautiful. Why are they beautiful because i LIke them. Then again I have known western women to have the same issue. Just something that we have to live through Communication is a skill that is not taught to us but one that sme learn with time and experience others do not.

Please move to which ever forum is more appropriat. We talk a lopt about Thai culture and the stupidity or lack of sense that it makes. Here is one from the land down under No staring at people unless they give you their verbal consent. Club 77 said one of its security guards would be a designated "Safety Officer" each night and would be recognisable by a pink hi-vis vest. "They have been trained to handle complaints and concerns. If you're being harassed by another person or receiving unwanted attention, please seek them out or tell our staff immediately," the statement read. "If we receive reports of any behaviour that has made someone feel uncomfortable, the reported individual will be removed from the venue and the police will be called." Blub 77 in sydney has made it part of their policy that you arenot allowed to stare at others unless they give you a verbal consent to stare. if that is the case then why go out to the club. Going out to a club was tohave fun with friends get dressed up and for guys maybe meet miss right or or for the girls to attract Mr Right. See even Aussies can take it to far. Here is a solution fo those that don'e want to be stared at. 1. Don't go out 2. don't dress to the 9's or the 1's. 3. If someone is looking at you then turn away or ask them to stop Makes me glad I live in the Land of Smiles at least here we can look and chat and stare at the pretty Thai ladies and not get thrown in jail or kicked out of the club. https://nypost.com/2022/08/25/nightclub-bans-staring-without-verbal-consent-in-new-woke-policy/

Guards Questioned on BTS Escalator Injuries
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Again the issue is not the escalator it is the number of people on the escalator and the fact that they still keep coming. There is no chance that the guards or anyone can get to the escalator in time. However, if they have a panic button in the booth as soon as they notice a large number of people coming up or a problem they can automatically turn it off. It is in fact still the stampede adage. If you have a roup of people moving in one direction in a small area and one person either stops or falls down the group keeps moving because it is. It used to be the same thing at rock concerts when people at the front of the standing area were crushed because of the people behind them and the people behind them. -
Not sure where you are but my suggestion is to take minivan to Rangsit and go to Zeer Rangsit. It has floors of used and refurbed computers and monitors. Exactly what you need. Prices are negotiable

Guards Questioned on BTS Escalator Injuries
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
From what I read it was not the escalator that caused the problem but the number of people. I think what is going to be found is that while the injuries were to people that were on and could not get off. The problem I thought wsa that there were too many people and there was no where for them to go when they got off and could not get off. -
Guards Questioned on BTS Escalator Injuries

It is if they are not able to get off when they get to the top. There had to be more people there than 40 to over crowd -
Guards Questioned on BTS Escalator Injuries
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
This has nothing to do with faulty equipment or the lack of expertise of guards. It has everything to do a large number of cattle stampeding to a system that requires order. By the time security realize there is a problem it is too late. Only solution is install a panic button in the ticket office -
Just think about it. If she is a cat her bf gets to play with his pussy all the time

DSorry guy but you definitely need to get your glasses checked. Ther is absolutely nothing wrong with her body. It puts a lot of young Thai girls to shame not to mention most western ladies here age.
