  1. ???? Really? I went out to "swampy" a couple of weeks ago, went to the 4th floor info desk and was told there's a travel agent down on floor "B". Made my way back down to floor "B" and the info desk there said nope, it's on the 6th floor. I went home.
  2. As the OP needs this and so do I, let me ask: A good, reliable place for the preflight test to get on the airplane in Thailand. My wife and I are looking for a place that will guarantee a 24hr result. (we worry that a 48hr result guarantee will come back too soon) So far all the places want 3k+ each (in BKK). Leaving at 11:45 pm on Austrian Air on the 31st, we apparently need results dated (anytime after mid-night) on the 31st. (or technically after 1pm on the 30th?)
  3. That's good to hear. My wife has made us an appointment for the 15th to do this but in BKK.
  4. Not to hijack this thread but what about returning to Thailand? Is the negative test 24-48 hrs before departure from the states or entry into Thailand? I ask because we leave on the morning of the 12th (US Time Zone) and land on the 14th (Thailand Time Zone)
  5. So, the Thaipass is only needed on the way into Thailand but not on the way out? Is the added Travel Insurance from the airlines acceptable for the ThaiPass requirement?
  6. Was trying to find an easy to understand list of documents needed to finally apply for my and the wife's ThaiPass and came across this: Thailand Pass Documents Guide – Expat Holidays Thailand Some of the things contradict info given here such as "How to book the hotel". As we are NOT frequent travelers, I'm starting to think it may be worth it to pay 5k TBH to just hire a service to apply for us. UbonJoe, are you available? ????
  7. You need a document from the school, listing it as the requester so the report is sent directly to them. Don't plan on waiting for it.
  8. Guess I have something to look forward to when I apply next week. ????
  9. Sold out lock, stock and barrel 22 yrs ago and never looked back. Doing better now than I was when I got here. Married 17 yrs so far and nary a regret. As with most things in life, you get out of it what you put into it. If I may offer an historical fact quoted from the beginning of "The Hunt For Red October" ; "When Cortez reached the new world he burned his ships. As a result, his men were well motivated"
  10. If you're expecting police, might I suggest "Pigs in a Blanket". They'll be gobbled right up and big smiles all around (although for different reasons).
  11. So, how many of you bought Rubles in the past 2-3 days? Can it be done now? The baht is currently up 26.7% against the ruble so 100,000 thb could net 127,000 thb in a few weeks.
  12. Unless you're 1 of the "Unvaxed" all of the shot info will be preapproved with the ThaiPass so moot point upon entry (if you're approved, you have the right docs to show at the airport) Why don't you just give the address of your kids? No reservation required.
  13. something that MAY help motivate his previous employer to just write a termination letter dated for contract termination (assuming it hasn't passed) is the fact that the labor dept (IF the WP hasn't been officially canceled) will (can) levi a fine against said employer up to around 20,000 TBH for not canceling the wp on time.
  14. You claim to be an entitled member of the UK and write a bad review travel blog about how mistreated you were and how nobody even spoke English in the foreign country you decided to visit during a pandemic for a vacation. ????
  15. So, for simplicity's sake, the coins you sold netted you $500 and the coins you bought (in my case since I don't know how to mine yet) are currently valued at a $1,000 loss do you pay on the $500 or claim a loss credit of $500?
  16. Sweet, Thank you for that. I was thinking those of us living here long term had a slightly different set of rules for coming back.
  17. So, by returning in April with a valid stay til Aug I would need to pay 10,000 baht for covid insurance? (2,500 x4 months)
  18. How did you answer? I've bought and sold over 40 crypto currencies during the past year. Some at a loss, some at a gain. Do (did) you go to your exchange service provider and get a list printed out and attach it for accuracy?
  19. Is this the cost of qualifying insurance to be let back into Thailand for a Non-O visa (extension) holder? I'm asking because my wife and I are planning a trip to the states in April. My current extension (based on marriage) is good until 16 Aug. 2022
  20. So, as an American living in Thailand, using a Swiss exchange to invest in Dutch crypto, which tax office am I liable to?
  21. I hear a lot about this ThaiPass for Tourists but is it needed for someone like me planning a 2 week visit to the states and returning here to Thailand? I'm already planning on getting a reentry permit to continue life on my non-O married extension. If it's needed, can it be applied for from Thailand?
