  1. I don't think there are many zebra crossings left in the UK, they have been changed to traffic light crossings, and they are always working.
  2. You are taking one hell of a chance, a lone Thai may not confront you, but one with a weapon, ie gun or baseball bat certainly will.
  3. Just imagine you are a stranger driving a car in a typical Thai city, in most cases you may not notice the zebra crossing until you are almost on it. The situation requires the stripped poles with a flashing beacon on top and zig zag lines so drivers will notice it from a distance.
  4. True, but the vast majority of Thai people do not have much common sense, and common sense IMO is about 80% a part of driving.
  5. The use of zebra crossings and roundabouts are very incompatible with Thai drivers and motorbike riders. Yet away from their cars, trucks and motorbikes, most of the time you could not meet more honest, decent, non confrontational people.
  6. Yes! If they can get their backsides out of their offices.
  7. There are a few things broken in this Banana Republic where Immigration is concerned, unnecessary 90 day reporting, different IO's, different rules always changing depending on what immigration officer or office you are dealing with etc, etc, etc. Give a Thai a uniform and authority and ----------.
  8. There was an online chat about 6 months ago, they were very unhelpful, I used it for about 5 days in a row, but I still lost over 1000Bt because of a crooked seller.
  9. I should have said I was only referring to my situation. I was about 80K from the IO and 200K to the border, which was a nice pleasant drive or motorbike ride. There was also no need for the 800,000Bt in the bank nonsense.
  10. Before you start looking for another seat just ask a flight attendent nicely if the plane is fully booked or not.
  11. I would be happy doing a border run every 3 months rather than being treated like a criminal with the ridiculous 90 day reporting here in Thailand. This was the way it was when I first came to live here.
  12. I use both Brave and Opera and have little problems, Brave for avoiding adverts and Opera for the free VPN which is handy for using PB. I would give Carbon a try except the win zip and 7 zip would probably give me problems as I am not the best for computer literacy.
  13. Cattle class for return flight to UK is about £900, how much is business class and what more do you get apart from good leg room?
  14. It is mine too, I will never use them again. If only I could be sure of no hassles in Dubai when changing over Emirates would be my first choice.
  15. For the sake of the person with the confused emo. There was a 3 hr layover and I only managed to get to the terminal for Bangkok less than a half hour before boarding the plane. Get it??
  16. Just like the portions of Fench Fries at KFC. Maybe I should be careful that KFC don't report me for defamation?
  17. How are they going to know who complained if you do not use your real name? Is AN going to give them your email address or any other information? I don't think so.
  18. Emirates is probably the best airline for comfort and food when flying in their planes, but the changeover at Dubai can be very questionable, no problem when changing going to the UK, but on the way back for Bangkok even with a 3hr layover can end up a disaster. I ended up getting at the terminal for Bangkok less than half an hour before take off. This was due to the unhelpfulness and couldn't care less attitude of the staff. If I had not met up with a lady going on the same flight as me, who knows what might have happened.
  19. No I did not get that, but as several posters said I would, I got my funds put into my Bangkok Bank.
  20. I have never had any fat smelly people or babies next to me in 20 years of regularly flying between here and the UK. Besides business class is way out of my budget.
  21. No, it was not an emergency exit seat, and yes I paid extra for it, it was the last row of seats on the plane and only two seats, on the outward journey which was through the day I had the aisle seat and I asked the passenger next to me at the window seat if she paid extra for it, she said she never booked her seat at all. I booked the window seat on the inward journey as it was a night flight and I wanted a seat and paid extra.
  22. When flying overnight I always get a window seat, but on my recent flight on KLM there was a 6ins gap from the window to my seat which made it impossible to put my pillow near the window, I may just as well have been in the middle or aisle seat. Are other airlines planes like this now, or is it just KLM. This is a warning to anyone flying with KLM who may want a window seat for an overnight sleep.
  23. A large percentage of these expats have to pay for their sex as they are unnattractive and overweight how would they get it otherwise. I am not saying that I looked like a young Elvis, but being a professional musician and being probably attractive to most girls, I would say I was probably promiscious.
