  1. That’s only a part of the answer. It’s the whole police system that needs to change. They buy their way in and then, just like the mafia, are required to ‘bung up’. It’s essentially a Ponzi scheme and the more you bung the higher you will go for a proper piece of the action.
  2. Easy to mock the Thais on this one—be able to see other countries etc, I get it, that’s funny. But good luck to em. There’s some brilliant minds here and also a ton of money for good stuff like this… though typically hidden away in army coffers,
  3. It is what it is, about right actually, we’re not in Kansas, but what’s that gotta do with the price of fish? If it were the same as your home country, would you be able to afford it here? How’s about the average Indian wage while poverty reigns supreme and Britain still sends them billions every single year. They have a huge space industry compared with Britain. All irrelevant.
  4. What confidence? What trust? Lol Everyone knows Thailand has a price. While tempting to jump all over the Chinese, this carry on can apply to all visitors with clout. Only reason it is a thing is because it’s out. Nice one, Thailand. Don’t worry, we all know the score; your reputation remains untarnished. > irony filter off >>
  5. You’re barking up the wrong tree and have misquoted since I was replying to the guy that was referring to how people comment on these events… yours included which are in bad taste. Good chance his family are reading this. In all my years riding here, never once have I had an altercation with another biker. Maybe he said something to them.
  6. Jeez, how old is he? Thing is, general, that’s what 99.99% of this country says to the other when your name is mentioned.
  7. Can’t see that happening. The gorilla in the room likely has a few cards up his sleeve.
  8. Ooh, that’d put the cat among the pigeons.
  9. Lol Anything but how much of the modern world has come about. Chinese New Year on the other hand has little to with anything, you mean. Guessing a hoot if one is, or hankers to be, gung-ho Chinese, but white noise for everyone else.
  10. Lol. Are you guys just off the boat? Try and stop at some of the crossings where I am and you will likely be killed. Many of them are right across busy highways…. poorly placed and poorly lit. We all want the roads to be safer but trying to ascribe western systems all of a sudden won’t work well. As pointed out, it needs to be brought in gradually with zebra crossings that are PROPERLY PLACED!
  11. Does this extend to ‘SALE’, I wonder? You know, those stores where everything has been on 50% sale for like 10 years.
  12. Some people? Well she would say that, wouldn't she. It is only logical with this thing that being separated for so long that pretty much everybody will get it in one fell swoop. One does not have to reside there to come up with that conclusion and the Chinese are on par with the Thais regard face and not telling it how it really is. China is a mess and they only have themselves to blame. Now they are going to pass it on to the rest of the world; again.
  13. Exploited? Regards girly bars, most are there by choice because they don’t care to work a regular job. They can walk at any time. But yes something should happen. Drop the face bs and legalise it for one.
  14. … so, dude walks into the most touristed place in Thailand and complains about the tourists
  15. Yes. All of them and none of them. It’s called BS and for-press consumption. Everyone is either bought in or juiced in and required to pass funds up like the mafia, ergo monies still need to be made whatever the time of year.
  16. Very sorry but SUCK IT UP! In a minute you’ll be saying foreigners are teaching without work permits.
  17. All foreigners? Even many, like me, that don’t intend to work? So you want to <deleted> off those obeying the law just to make it sound especially tough? Wind your neck in. There are also innumerable jobs Thais just cannot do and while you may shutdown this or that operation, Thai people will lose out in the end be it not being able to learn English or whatever. Back to sleep, Suchart Let’s get back to focusing on Thailand’s real issues, yeah.
  18. Indeed. Firecrackers going off everywhere. Why doesn’t everyone who wants to celebrate CNY just go to China and leave the normal people in peace? Esp Chinese nationals… just stay put already. Not buying Chinese ancestry thing. Just go to Beijing and make noise and smoke and COVID! Bah humbug ????
  19. Yep. Chiang Mai is the absolute worst for them. Just one going by can leave a stench for minutes. Gov needs to get its act together and force the M Fs to go electric or have their pos crushed.
  20. Agree with above comments. Easy to rag on the young nowadays for being feeble and having it easy etc, but in this case at least they are leading by example. Takes some real balls to do this kind of thing here. The vast majority in this sleepy fair land should take note!
  21. They couldn’t care less. China should do the right thing: apologise and pay compensation to the rest of the world in the trillions. I would be happy for them all to P off to Venus, however.
  22. Great. Can’t wait. ????
  23. Assuming no one forced her to do that job, if she can’t hack it, perhaps choose a profession more inline with her personality type… like packing fruit in a factory.
  24. Beat me to it! 'John J?'
  25. One hit of fluconazole (Biozole 150mg) has worked for me in the past.
