  1. Few will likely know but will get a rude awakening on entry. The kind of irksome, money-grabbing thing to put off visiting again? Thailand is going backwards imo.
  2. “The woman senator charged that the prime minister has apparently turned blind eye and deaf ear to the sensational money-laundering, drug-trading and casino-running activities perpetrated in defiance of the law by one of the grey Chinese business suspects who had allegedly handed out payoffs to police and army officers, among others in the Thai bureaucratic circles.“ Of course, it makes him money. Along with the power/ego thing, why d’you think he’s still bumbling about in office? Crapp job, great perks. Anyway, Porntip; great name. ????
  3. ^^ Try 787 over the wings aisle seat. Quietest trip over I had. Here op. Perhaps she was Valium’d up for the journey.
  4. Careful not to upset your other ‘friends’ now, Russia & Iran, by not including them in that cringe statement.
  5. Waiting for every other country in the world to reciprocate, targeting Thais only ????
  6. What utter tool invented such a thing and made them look like a toy!
  7. And, thankfully, being a ‘70s boy never had to slum it with outdoor loos like you baby boomers. ????
  8. Ahh, the washing machine and milk bottles (on the doorstep every morning)… instantly transported back to simpler, happier times!
  9. Hat Yai is another one that gets all bent out of shape regards TM30s. It’s childish and annoying.
  10. ???? The one he's on looks alright
  11. Indeed. The boomers whinge and duck for cover during Songkran. Now is the time to hide, during this imported non-event (for every other nation) no less.
  12. My option, fwiw, don't F around bending sh.1t back on a bike above 50cc.
  13. Why would a tourist fork out for health insurance when they're already covered... you know, that spurious, compulsory entry fee which 'covers' for eventualities.
  14. Indeed it is. Been driving here for years and one needs to be on the constant lookout. Recently close to taking out a telecoms guy up his bamboo ladder which was right out into the carriageway with no-one footing it and no bollard or rag etc. She isn't 100% at fault, more 50/50 as the poor guy is crouching down in the path with zero warning. Her line of site is skewed. Folk calling it murder, baying for blood... get a grip. How long have you been here? This kind of incident can happen to anyone at any time.
  15. Indeed. These Miss so n so competitions always seem to be loaded with over the top done up ladies with excessive features. Seems to impress the judges. Each to their own, but if she was walking down the street in normal garb and makeup she’d no doubt turn heads.
  16. Influx of ‘international’ tourists. Nicely done. Let’s not single anyone out now.
  17. Of course they are even if they are not eh. No risk at all from China eh, never China!
  18. Russia-China-Iran-Burma etc etc. I would expect nothing less of the low lives that run this country to buddy up with these stalwarts. Sad.
  19. I could believe it if the Chinese really get fed up.
  20. All countries have an inbound tax applied to tickets, Thailand included. This is a money-grabbing add-on, they say to help pay the medical bills from all the millions of supposed non-paying sick tourists blah blah. The exempted list should include any long stayer, not just those with work permits. I am not a F tourist.
  21. Onward booking and the like come with a valid pnr… they are cancelled later. Op will likely not get asked in any case since they have a return ticket. Those that get asked at check in are typically one-wayers.
  22. So did you pay up or stay in la la land? Should’ve tried to knock them down to a grand. Last time I bounced Malay borders (legit multi O) was around 2015 and had issues then, with them first saying it wasn’t legit, then having to get the 20k + massive line etc. Understand certain categories struggle with visa options but having to rely on bouncing land borders is asking for it nowadays. Forget that it may not be written in law (albeit seem to remember an unenforced requirement back in the day), unless you have the gift of the gab and powerful ‘friends’ on tap, the law is what the guy with your passport in his hand says it is.
  23. Nothing but sickness, mayhem and angst for everyone else.
