He does it because he thinks he’s a people person, everyone loves him, must be seen to be everywhere etc. ‘He can do no wrong’. Let’s see how his levels go over the coming months after he loses face through Ill thought out schemes and plummeting opinion polls. Just another unelected mouthpiece not representative of 99% of people in Thailand.

Flight ticket with 100% free cancellation
daveAustin replied to zenplay's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
But it does happen, my friend. Got pulled up on it years ago, before the buying-tickets-online days so would've been screwed or shafted on buying a ticket on the spot. Eventually let me board as I said I was married and would get a visa here. They do still ask at random if you don't have a visa. Someone recommended buying a ticket and getting a full refund. Ok, fare () enough, but for just a few bucks, the throwaway ones are so quick and easy. Valid PNR is generated so the airline at check-in cannot deny boarding. Despite typing tat on here, I personally do not have the time or inclination to buy a real ticket and fart around having monies refunded. -
Opinion: Making me pay tax is fine but where does it go?
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Would sooner burn my taxed income than watch it go directly into the pocket of some unelected dinosaur here. That is where this bogus 'tax' will go. -
Barclays Bank to close UK accounts for British expats
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
^^^ You would also need to use banking app behind a VPN and never use credit card if you went down that road. Have always told HSBC where I am since they suspended a card when used here in Thailand as safety measure. In regard to the OP, would suggest transferring to a real bank. ???? -
Russell Brand and why the allegations took so long to surface
daveAustin replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Took time because the media people went out there chasing down his previous exploits for 'the story'. The bloke is not my favourite; is mouthy, pretty arrogant and has done some rubbish stuff, like dissing Andrews Sachs, and deserves to be punished IF he is guilty. This whole thing of the media passing judgement is disgusting and needs to end. People are having their lives ruined by mere accusation. Take the benevolent Cliff Richard, for example. The bloke is now a complete wreck because one person with low character decided to accuse him of something, and yet they can go about their life like nothing happened. This kind of thing can happen to any of us if a woman/man from a previous encounter decides to change their mind.- 366 replies

Other way around in the UK... harder to get C at higher amperages. Most circuits should be on B, resistive rated. Typically, larger pumps, welders would behind C and then D rated or you get nuisance tripping on starting. Having a lighting circuit on a C rated MCB/RCBO, for example, is not necessary since there won't me much inrush on switch on.

Thai health minister backs cannabis ban, citing surge in teen usage
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Great idea, let the kids get onto alcohol instead, yeah! So a big pharma-pushing doctor is involved as well now. We all know where their priorities lie. And lumping weed into the hard drugs category? Donkeys. Old men still making decisions over the normal people. Get em all out. Let's move forward. -
If it's on your property, have its head off and eat it... preferably after cooking. If a big deal, speak to the poo yai baan politely with a nice bottle of chianti under your arm. ????

Pita: Move Forward Aiming For 300 Seats In Next General Election

Nice, keep making noise and finally get this this lot out of governance! A Thailand sans grubby dinosaurs with their snout in the trough... One can only hope. -
What is the real deal with proposed foreign income tax changes?
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They can F off 'stealing' ALREADY taxed income and pensions though, which was proposed in the original document. That would be obscene Orwellian banana republic behaviour. -

Cannabis Network Gives Health Minister A Warning
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It’ll piss a lot of people off if it is flippantly reversed. Not just ordinary, normal folk just enjoying their lives, but people right up. Thailand likes to think it is all grown up and stable when talking economics etc, but is proper banana republic when it makes swift flip-flop changes. Almost childlike. -
Lost in translation… one would need to be clairvoyant to know how something went missing ???? Shame a crackhead relieved her of it and not one of those super-duper honest cab drivers we keep hearing about. Thailand is still largely a cash society. Very common for office workers n such to draw big money from ATMs. Hope she gets some of it back and perp dries up a bit.

Gordon Ramsay’s group set to open 14 restaurants in Thailand
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Oh, how droll ???? Likely wouldn’t appeal to the boguns among us. Not my favourite person but why knock it? He’s certainly as good as the best Franco-Italiano chefs and produces all that fluffy nosh, having spent time in both places. Thais also love to eat hearty western food. Not bothering to read the replies in this one as 90% will likely be throwaway comments from the beans on toast crowd ????. Good luck to the bloke. -
PM admits political divide in Thailand is difficult to tackle
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
… because of UNELECTED people like you. Blathering on about helping poor people / the proletariat in order to garner support/praise while being filthy rich and not knowing about real struggle. It is pukeworthy. The sooner the world rids itself of corrupt dinosaurs, the better for all. -
Same here. Why stress, no one’s getting out of this alive anyway. ????

Already all been said. Drink it when you need it--heavy exercise in the jungle you'll clearly need more than when sitting around on here, but loads of plain water in big volumes is not a good idea... that's not how we evolved. Read somewhere once that guzzling loads does nowt but dilute electrolytes and then the kidneys dump it to prevent the blood from thinning. You'll just end up feeling lightheaded, peeing all the time and still be dehydrated. Drink when you need it and consider adding some good electrolytes in hot climes... not the cheapo all-sugar dechamp type in 7. /The small packs of Oreda (think it is) seem to be ok though. Also consider drinking mineral water as opposed to always 'dead' reverse osmosis type.//

That’s not long. Try giving it 6 months. Might also be dehydrated.

That’s not excessive and not hard liquor, but would try to go down to 2-3 a day and have a couple days off.
