No. It was made quite clear that I had 800k in the bank AND could comfortably satisfy the 65k x 12m requirement.
If anyone has used Maneerat, or any other Pattaya agent, to obtain a retirement extension based on monthly income I would be interested to hear
That is not actually true - at least as far as Maneerat are concerned.
I engaged them this year because I need to apply 3 months early. They said that they could do it on the basis of 800k in the bank; they specifically said that I could not use income. I simply pass on this information from my own personal experience.
No, he's right - you screwed up.
Why were you using a visa agent if you were making monthly? I was advised that the agent could only arrange retirement extensions based on money in the bank NOT using the income method.
When using the incomed method, at Jomtien Immigration, I had to go to Kasikorn bank, Pattaya Klang international department to get a certificate stating that the funds were received from abroad. The local Jomtien branch couldn't do it.
I can't speak for Chiang Mai but you are likely to need 12 months bank statements showing the DWP payment going into a Thai bank account.
You can take the account down to 400k (if you wished) until 2 months before you apply for your next extension.
Just to mention that you may first need to show immigration that you have complied with the terms of the previous approval (ie 800k in the bank etc). You must also evidence the 50k pm of income for 12 months........................a sort of double whammy.
