Renewing a Driver's Licence Without a Yellow Book
howerde replied to Robbkk's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I renewed my driving license in Bangkok ( Bang Chak DLT 3) Aug last year so this might be a bit out of date, i tried booking via the smart queue it showed a 4 month wait, so went to Bang Chak ( note you could not walk in everything was by appointment, i went there and got an appointment 8 weeks later, they told me i did not need to do the online test but bring certificate of residence and medical certificate, the said both were only valid 30 days they also check your visa/ extension of stay At Chang Wattana you must bring your tm47 (your last 90 day report) and copy your passport bio and Visa, the cost is 200 baht and they post it to you takes about 10 days, there is no express service. I have read that Chatachuk DLT does walk ins -
Car Insurance - Failure to pay legitimate claims !!!
howerde replied to Pumpuynarak's topic in Car Insurance Options
Companies especially Thai companies do not worry much about their reputations as a company in the west would, as reporting anything negative about them even if true, is covered under the broad libel/slander rules making it virtually impossible for anyone to write negative things even the publications reporting it can find themselves in trouble, however with social media coverage it is getting harder to cover up -
I do not believe the TM6 has been brought back at airports, but yesterday in the newspaper it said that you must have your boarding pass available at the immigration kiosk so it can be checked against your passport
-
You are thinking of the TM6 (arrival card) they were done away with at airports last year or maybe even earlier, you still get one at land borders, The TM3O is filled out by the householder/hotel when a foreigner is staying. it is supposed to be done within 24hours of arriving can all be done online

A ceramic coating will make the car shine beautifully and will make it easier to clean that is all, it will not protect against stone chips heavy scratches etc, for that you need the car wrapped, if the car is left out in the sun then it might last a year,

Yes there is nothing you can do or complain to, when i queried the 88% increase in premium and new exclusions they just said you have gone up an age bracket.
-
If a Thai insurer then i am sure they will and they will add exclusions to your policy (it happened to me) even though the tests did not find anything, it would seem if you have a health check then in Thai eyes you must be worried about something

It is not the use of an agent that is the problem, if you live in a place in this case Bangkok they expect to see you dealing with Bangkok immigration or the immigration office where you live(either your self or agent), their issue is those who use agents to obtain extension of stay etc but they see a stamp from some Issan office, and so suspect that you do not meet the financial requirements.

When i have had a rejection, the email states what was wrong ie a missing field or not matching info, this is at CW Bangkok

The Russians are never going to allow the US AND EUROPE to install their nuclear missiles on its border any more than the US would allow Russia to put missiles in Mexico OR Cuba, as for Ukraine t is already game over, the don't have a an army they are mostly dead, the airforce was wiped out long ago, what happened to the awesome patriot missile system that was going to protect Kiev the Russians dealt with it, the Russians hold land in Ukraine that is held by a Russian speaking population that is also ethnically Russian, as for invade Europe why would Putin be bothered, America is pulling out fast the Israel crisis has given them the chance to cut their losses and get out like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya etc etc Remember the US and its allies are prepared to fight til the last Ukrainian (sadly) -

Yes and/or they are getting confused with an OA visa where the money is kept in your home country, The MFA (ministry of foreign affairs) are responsible for embassies/ consulates, and their info updated 2022 shows https://consular.mfa.go.th/th/content/80939-non-–-immigrant-visa-“o-x”-(long-stay-10-years)?page=5d68c88b15e39c160c0081e5&menu=5d68c88b15e39c160c0081e6 I would hate for the OP to pay 600 aud, which is not refundable if rejected
-
I wonder if they are correct embassies and consulates can have the wrong info I have on 0X visa although not from Sydney and i did my yearly report they checked my bank account and they required a letter from my bank confirming the amount held and that had to be dated they day of document inspection

Driving Licence Renewal - Certificate of Residency - Problems
howerde replied to peter267's topic in Central Thailand
You will not get a certificate of residence at Bangkok immigration without a 90 day report (tm47), a TM30 should be done by your landlord or hotel. by its self it is not enough for a residents certificate -
Log into your gateway account check the amounts are correct check your tax code, you should not need to do anything(as both pensions are taxed via paye), if the amounts shown are wrong you can amend them online.
