I know link refers to the Army but it likely refers to all services, so it would seem he would need to be released from Thai conscription, https://british-army.career-inspiration.com/app/discussions/view/102914/can-british-dual-citizen-thai-and-british-serve-in-the-british-army This might help, see the the post from the British consular team

I transferred my stamp to a new passport last August at CW, and was given a hard time by the female IO, you need to fill in the form (visa transfer) number 22 from here. https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=3202 copies of both passports i had all my pages copied in the old passport that was enough to get a ticket to queue for the transfer, When it was my turn the IO wanted in addition to the above last 90 day report, bank letter with statement dated that day copy of bank book, the TM30 showing my address, which i did not have so had to go downstairs to get it printed off. none of this should have been needed, expect the unexpected, hopefully yours will go smoother To be safe i would take all of the above, but only show the completed form and passport copies to start, then if you get the wrong IO you will have the other docs PS i was going to do my 90 day report as well, but after 5 hours, was not going to wait any longer, i did wonder if you now have a new passport so new number would they want to see a new TM30 with the new passport number

Caring for a relative with vascular dementia
howerde replied to Kinnock's topic in Health and Medicine
Dementia is very distressing and unpleasant for the carers, my mother felt unwell after a large amount of antibiotics, she had been a nurse so she knew something was wrong, the doctors just told her nothing wrong just age, after 3 or 4 months she started having tests, it could not be a stroke/Alzheimer's/dementia, all to quick, then after 6 months they said yes it is dementia, we all said cant be, they said yes 'rapid onset vascular dementia' she passed away within 2 years -
Service wise found them both the same, slight edge to Thai for food, but just used which ever was cheaper at the time

If buying in Thailand beware wise do not provide the FET form https://wise.com/help/articles/2932335/guide-to-thb-transfers What’s a Foreign Exchange Transaction (FET) form? A FET form is a document that confirms money sent into Thailand came from abroad. When a bank receives a transfer of 50,000 USD or more, they have to send a FET form to the Bank of Thailand to report the money. You’ll need a FET form if you’re a foreigner buying property in Thailand, or if you’re applying for a Thai visa. Why can’t Wise give me a FET form? We aren't authorised by the Bank of Thailand to issue FET forms. It’s because of how we work: when you send money with us, we use our Thai banking partners to send out your money locally. It doesn’t cross any borders, so it doesn’t show up as a foreign transaction.

Non-Immigrant Visa Type O-X
howerde replied to BaanOz's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have an 0-X visa, the visa is a 10 year visa but you get it as 2x 5 years, my wife is not on my visa, but looking at the website at the London embassy it states, so she would need to qualify in her own right Spouses of holders of O-X Visa will be considered for temporary stay under Category ‘O’ Visa if they do not qualify to apply for the O-X Visa themselves. A duly notarised marriage certificate must be provided as evidence. As for the money you need 3million baht in a Thai bank account as well as other conditions, i see the Sydney consulate does not say that, no idea where they are getting those figures from, i just looked at the link on their website and that takes you to the 0-A requirementswhere the money is in your home countries bank. not the 0-X You will need insurance from here https://longstay.tgia.org/companiesox You need to report to immigration every year to have you bank book/insurance checked (though when i tried to do my first year report they said no need just come back when you passport expires which i did, they were not happy when i took my new passport why have you not been coming for the yearly checks? they sent me home with a note to come later this year after going through my documents line by line My advice try the LTR , Be aware the money in Thai bank will get you 1% if you are lucky, and the health insurance is not value for money after a small outpatients claim my renewal amounts was just over 80 000 baht, the non 0 retirement has no health insurance -
No i was at Chang Wattana on Monday after 2 failed attempts to do the online report, both times came back saying entry date was wrong, i entered Thailand on the same passport and visa, at CW i was told the system does not pick up the new entry date (well it did not for me, i was told that if i left the country again then the first report after returning would have to be done in person, if it works for you good, but as we all know nothing is guaranteed
-
Have you been out of the country since your last report? I had the same rejection 2 weeks ago but from Chang Wattana, the reason i had left the country and returned in November, the system does not pick up your return date, had to do in person, said next time can do online, but if you go abroad then you will have to do the report in person

90 day report Online.
howerde replied to Gee Bangkok's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I had the same message from CW last week checked my passport details were right summited it again rejected, went to CW earlier this week and was told that as i had left the country my details are not updated in the system, and in future if i left the country then my first report would have to be done in person, she said my May report can be done online (lets see), up til last year i had been doing the online reports with no issues for 2 years, but since last August something seems to have happened -
I assume you mean TM30, late last year they did change the system and everyone was supposed to register TM30 on the new system, there was no automatic roll over, Found this courtesy of soi3eddie I just received the email below for those here who do our own online TM30 reports. I guess we should all receive this notice, however in case not, the details follow. Stupidly it requires new registration but is seems easier than previously - for new registration go to: https://tm30.immigration.go.th/TM30/Foreigner/TM30Th/index.html Would be nice if they have updated the submission pages so that they will work with all web browsers - time will tell. เรื่อง / Subject: ช่องทางการแจ้งที่พักอาศัย(ตม.30) / Notification of residence for foreigners (TM.30) We are pleased to inform you that with effect from 15 September 2023, the website address (URL) will be changed as follows. However, you will need to register again at our new website. For clients who have saved our website as a “Favorite” or “Bookmark”, please update the settings. Bank account issue - Refused
howerde replied to JGV's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
As i understand it you do not just transfer your account to a new area, it involves opening a new account in that area, i would say what you encountered is quite normal when a bank etc etc simply do not want to do the work they just ask for additional documents which change all the time until you go away(problem solved for them), it may be that the are looking for some encouragement( money), just try another bank is easiest, as a last resort an agent will do it. nothing in Thailand surprises me anymore- 23 replies

Renewing a Driver's Licence Without a Yellow Book
howerde replied to Robbkk's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I renewed my driving license in Bangkok ( Bang Chak DLT 3) Aug last year so this might be a bit out of date, i tried booking via the smart queue it showed a 4 month wait, so went to Bang Chak ( note you could not walk in everything was by appointment, i went there and got an appointment 8 weeks later, they told me i did not need to do the online test but bring certificate of residence and medical certificate, the said both were only valid 30 days they also check your visa/ extension of stay At Chang Wattana you must bring your tm47 (your last 90 day report) and copy your passport bio and Visa, the cost is 200 baht and they post it to you takes about 10 days, there is no express service. I have read that Chatachuk DLT does walk ins -
Car Insurance - Failure to pay legitimate claims !!!
howerde replied to Pumpuynarak's topic in Car Insurance Options
Companies especially Thai companies do not worry much about their reputations as a company in the west would, as reporting anything negative about them even if true, is covered under the broad libel/slander rules making it virtually impossible for anyone to write negative things even the publications reporting it can find themselves in trouble, however with social media coverage it is getting harder to cover up -
I do not believe the TM6 has been brought back at airports, but yesterday in the newspaper it said that you must have your boarding pass available at the immigration kiosk so it can be checked against your passport
-
You are thinking of the TM6 (arrival card) they were done away with at airports last year or maybe even earlier, you still get one at land borders, The TM3O is filled out by the householder/hotel when a foreigner is staying. it is supposed to be done within 24hours of arriving can all be done online

A ceramic coating will make the car shine beautifully and will make it easier to clean that is all, it will not protect against stone chips heavy scratches etc, for that you need the car wrapped, if the car is left out in the sun then it might last a year,
-
Yes there is nothing you can do or complain to, when i queried the 88% increase in premium and new exclusions they just said you have gone up an age bracket.
-
If a Thai insurer then i am sure they will and they will add exclusions to your policy (it happened to me) even though the tests did not find anything, it would seem if you have a health check then in Thai eyes you must be worried about something
-
It is not the use of an agent that is the problem, if you live in a place in this case Bangkok they expect to see you dealing with Bangkok immigration or the immigration office where you live(either your self or agent), their issue is those who use agents to obtain extension of stay etc but they see a stamp from some Issan office, and so suspect that you do not meet the financial requirements.
