Transferring Visa to a New passport
howerde replied to steveb5's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
At CW last month they wanted filled in application form your old and new passport, copy of old and new passport bio page and copy of old visa/extension of stay and you need a copy of your last entry into Thailand, i had a particular hard time she wanted a copy of my last 90 day report and print out of TM30 https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=3202 number 22 -
Seen a few reports about 3-4 weeks, did mine mid may and was 6 weeks, the site still says allow 11weeks

It was not approved it still showed pending on 4 Sep so cancelled it, and went in person on 5 Sep, Took all of 3 minutes to do, shame about the 2 1/2 hour round trip, lets hope for a better performance in Dec (i never bothered asking them why as i would have just been told the first thing that came into their head)

There is no minimum/ maximum time abroad(once you move abroad and are no longer resident you lose your right to free NHS treatment getting it back is quite simple see below https://www.gov.uk/guidance/using-the-nhs-when-you-return-to-live-in-the-uk#:~:text=Complete a GMS1 form to,are eligible for free healthcare. for what it is worth if you are still registered with your gp you would be covered unless you tell them you live abroad, i hear some people use a relatives house to still show an address in UK(they get themselves on the council tax bill, but as you know the GP where you are registered must be in the area where your 'new address' is

I should have added the best doctors i saw there were doctors that worked in the government hospitals but had evening/weekend clinics at Bumrungrad
-
Do not take the hospitals recommendation, do your own research, tried looking at his bio https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/search-for-a-thailand-doctor but it will not load, look at all the relevant bios, i would not touch any doctor that has not done time in the west trained and or resident, their bios show this( i have found even at this hospital some doctors will just dismiss you as they know best, unlike in the west you can question the doctor). hopefully Sheryl will be able to track one down; I would also look at other hospitals by checking the doctors bio. your money you chose the doctor https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/centers/ent-ear-nose-and-throat-center-bangkok-thailand

Converting from Non-IMM O to Non-IMM OX
howerde replied to Mike Teavee's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The guidance on the London website does not mention this, simply must be held in a Thai bank i take that as in one bank account, the Vancouver embassy states A copy of bank statement (from Thailand financial institutes only) and a letter of guarantee from the bank with bank’s contact information showing a deposit of the amount equal to and not less than 3 Million bahts, Which i read as it must be all in one account further the London embassy website states Applicants must have Thai medical insurance during their stay in Thailand (per the approval of the Office of Insurance Commission) and medical claims for outpatient must not be less than 40,000 Baht, for inpatient must not be less than 400,000 Baht. But then states 3 million baht coverage is required Copy of evidence stating that applicants have insurance as per stipulated by the Office of Insurance Commission and health insurance of Thailand which covers COVID-19 related medical expenses, both inpatient and outpatient, no less than 100,000 USD for the whole period of your stay in Thailand. Please check < http://longstay.tgia.org> for more information regarding the insurance requirement. -

I tried to get an O-X at CW just over 4 years ago , they said you can not do in Thailand, get it in London(the Thai London website implied you could), i tried an agent who wanted 40 000 baht, another issue might be the money, some sites state the money must be held in Thailand for 1 year before you can apply -
Last time i filled up they said use all your points up before September, might try shell if they won't let me have a member card

wonder if you will still get the free water?

You could try the app dlt smart queue, these thinds are hit and miss in Thailand

I had to make an appointment at Bang Chak (dlt 3) i am not sure they are doing walk ins for foreigners(i tried early July), i tried to renew my driving license and was given an appointment 8 weeks later. they never answered the phone so went hoping to do on the day.

If you have a trackling number try inputting it here https://www.ems.post/en/global-network/tracking i had an package from Ireland and the Irish tracking number worked on the EMS site, if you use a VPN you might have to turn it off

You will not get good/excellent dental treatment cheaply in Thailand, Bangkok international dental center (bidc) or Bangkok dental Hospital(Bidh) have good reputations for implants or Aesthetics if you want quality work, run of the mill fillings etc are cheap at the many dental clinics, i would not use them( went once told i needed 3 fillings replaced, all 3 fell out within 18 months he never showed me the xrays so i now doubt the work ever needed doing), the prices for my implants was the same as the UK. you might try the dental centres in some of the hospitals, be careful
